Post-wedding blues
Yesterday I was at a BBQ and some family friends' family (if that makes sense) were asking about my wedding and how they heard it was beautiful and everything and I responded that I had forgotten how beautiful it was because we have been so busy painting and setting up our condo this past week. How could I forgot my own wedding day? It was not that long ago and yet that day seems so far away.
I feel sad now because most young women think of their wedding day as one of the most significant day of their lives and I feel bad because although it was beautiful, I don't think of it every day and haven't sat and relived it yet.
Am I weird?

Re: Post-wedding blues
i dont' think there's anything wrong with that.i love to look at my pictures...but i never sit around and relive my wedding...there's too much else to do!
i'm actually relieved the actual wedding day is over...it was so much work...now i can relax and do all of the things i put off while i was planning.....
don't feel bad about not thinking about your wedding day everyday...it was beautiful...but now you have to work on creating a beautiful life with your new husband

Re: Post-wedding blues
I agree. The future has only just begun for a new life with your new husband. There's too much to do rather than focusing all your energy on that one special day.

Re: Post-wedding blues
I understand how you feel! Over the weekend I was sharing our photos with my cousins who could not make our wedding due to the blizzard. In a way I was a bit a sad remembering how quickly the day went by and how little I actually remember about it. I think that it is a normal feeling. So much time and effort goes into planning a wedding and it goes by in just a few hours. I think now we just have to focus on our new life together and enjoying all that is yet to come!

Re: Post-wedding blues
palebride, you couldn't have said it any better! :)I feel the same as you juliet - especially now that I'm in a wedding in October - the LAST of my five friends to get married!! My advice is to try a focus more on looking forward to the future with your DH, there's so many wonderful things just watiing to happen that you'll be able to share as husband and wife!
Don't let something like 'forgetting' your wedding day freak you out - I have yet to meet a single married woman who can give a play-by-play description of everything that happened on her wedding day - it's just too emotionally overwhelming! :) You're totally normal, and you're not alone either! I think we can all attest to having post-wedding blues at one point or another, whether it was only a matter of days, or years after! So if you're abnormal for feeling this way, then we'll all right there with you
