Post Wedding Depression
So, I'm not depressed by any means, but I hear about this alot.Brides who have been planning their weddings for so long and they are left with nothing to do.
(not like we all don't have enough to do anyway without the added stress of planning a major event
)But, sometimes, I will catch myself thinking - especially now that the HM is over and we've both gone back to work, just how fast it all went and that now its all over...
Just like, what now?
anyone else on this boat with me?

Re: Post Wedding Depression
I was - then the HM came and went and now I'm in the a good place. However, I do find myself reading the 'for sale' posts just b/c i still like to look at ideas.
I miss the day - I miss my dress but I've reached a good place and I'm happy to be rid of a lot of it and just living the married life.

Re: Post Wedding Depression
Yup - I wish I could go back and do it all over again. DH looks at me like I have 3 heads when I say I'd go through all the stress of planning again if we had the money to do it.I've just tried to focus on the next steps...getting a firm grasp of our finances to start house searching, cleaning up things around our apartment so that I'm organized (not winning on this battle) and just other stuff. I like to be busy but no overwhelmed.

Re: Post Wedding Depression
I got over it so quickly, I just liked that it was all done and that now we could save our money for vacations, our next home, etc., instead of wedding things. Don't get me wrong - we LOVED our wedding day and our honeymoon, it still all feels like a dream that never happened, but I'm in no way depressed that it's over, more just excited that we're married, it's real (still doesn't feel that way hah!), and hoping to have some babiessssss!

Re: Post Wedding Depression
I felt it for a couple of weeks....especially RIGHT after we returned from Maui. From personal experience, I can say it fades pretty fast!

I still can't believe it's over though

Re: Post Wedding Depression
I don't think i would plan the whole thing over again because i wouldn't change a thing (except change photographers or have hired an extra one, but that's a different story) but i would LOVE to relive the whole day and feel the magic again.

Re: Post Wedding Depression
I'm not sure if that feeling will go away!I just said last night to my DH that I can't believe that we will be married 1 year this weekend and that I miss our wedding so much!!!!
I say this to everyone, especially the people that asked 'are you happy it's over'
I would love to relive those 3 weeks of my life over again. The week before our wedding was such an exciting time, we were on a wedding high! Of course the Wedding day and our honeymoon
Also - We LOVEDDDDD planning our wedding and doing all of our DYIs - it was just such a happy time.

this is what I miss. The days leading up to it, and the honeymoon.
one thing I definitely do not miss is practically draining our savings account to pay vendors

Re: Post Wedding Depression
I don't miss the planning and all the drama that goes along with it.But I do miss the week leading up to and the day of the wedding! It was so special - I wish I could bottle it up.
I also miss being a 'bride' - you're only engaged and have a 'fiance' for so long before you're the wife lol (which i still LOVE). So reliving that feeling of right before you begin your married life together would be amazing.
DH teases me becasue I'm still all about weddings - love hearing about people's engagement stories, dresses, ideas and such.

Re: Post Wedding Depression
im definatly right there with you. As soon as the day was over i wished we could do it all over again... not the planning.. or the saving of the money for one day, but the feeling we had that day.Im defiantly thrilled that we are finally husband and wife, and i dont miss the stress and drama that went with the planning but it truly was the happiest day of my life and i would have no problem reliving it everyonce in a while

I'm not depressed but definitely want to do it all over again!! I have so many things that I'd do differently during the last week (i.e. calling the limos to confirm the time, getting ALL the pics I wanted (now I have to beg Duet to let me do them over..), etc.)Yes, I just got married
, but I wanna do it again!!!!!!!!!!!Annnndddd, I don't leave for my HM until next week so it makes it even worse!!
