post wedding eating

post wedding eating

DH and I dieted and exercised from Jan-May this year to make sure we looked our best on our wedding day. We both lost 20 lbs and went down 1-2 sizes.

Since the wedding we have been eating so badly. I'm talking 9pm runs to Baskin Robbins! It all started with the honeymoon where we would eat dessert after every meal. So bad! I can't kick my sweets cravings and now I think we've gained both back 10 lbs.

We also haven't seen the gym since about 2 weeks before the wedding.

Anyone else go through this?

Re: post wedding eating

I’m eating everything in my house that’s not nailed down. I am always soooooo hungry. To be honest, I tried to “diet” before the wedding, but really was unable to. And by unable to, I mean too hungry to. But it’s waaaay worse now because we started going out to eat again cause we can afford it again now. So we’re eating like two little oink-oinks

Hasn't happened to us, but this is what we're doing so we don't fall into a slump...maybe it'll help you

- Set the alarm early; get up and go to the gym together before work. We do this (well, I go to the gym and he goes for a run)...it's way easier to get it done early in the morning and not have to worry about it after work.

- If you want dessert after each meal, that's not a big deal Just don't go to Baskin Robbins. Keep WW ice cream in your freezer...it's individually wrapped. Portion control. Skinny Cow is also individually wrapped. Or have a bowl of berries with a little whipped cream or fat-free Cool Whip.

- Get recipes from hungrygirl.com for stuff that's low in calories and fat but doesn't taste like 'diet food'.

- Have salad with your dinner. We each have a big bowl of salad with dinner every night...beware of the dressings and toppings (cheese and crutons, etc.) that can be cals and fat. Salad doesn't have to be boring; last night I threw in some raspberries and blueberries and he was over the moon saying how good it was! I only did it because they looked like they'd spoil by tonight if I didn't use them

HTH!

I put on 25 lbs - but I think 10 if it was from going off the pill - the other 15 I can only blame chocolate & holiday eating!

But I have lost 18 of the 25 so I am 'almost' back to my wedding day weight. Drink lots of water to fill you up & beware of products that say 'light/lite' - they often do more damage than good. Stay away from nutrasweet/asparatame/splenda - they are a HUGE culprit to weight gain! Try using either RAW sugar (not processed or refined) or natural sweetner called Stevia - you can get in any local health food store. HTH!

From stress and everything, I gained 20 lbs throughout the year after the wedding. I totally know how you're feeling. We got married in June and I started heavily working out and dieting in April. I lost 10.5 lbs and felt so much better. It's ok, so many people gain weight after the wedding. It's important for your health to try to get back on track sometime soon. Good luck mama!!!

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS! Some diet foods are SOOOO BAD for you.

YUP! Totally gained 10 pounds in the 2 1/2 months we've been married...
Problem now is that I cant lose it! I've been getting up early EVERY morning to do the elliptical and 'trying' to eat a little better and the weight is NOTT moving. I think i'm stuck with the extra 10 pounds now

I did pretty well right after the wedding and then started tryng to build muscle and have packed on the weight since then. I am miserable and can't wait to take it off!

The good thing is ladies, weight isn't permanent! So if you are unhappy you can ABSOLUTELY change it! I am really into fitness/nutrition...if i cna help at all, please let me know!!!
