post wedding feelings
Hi Everyone. I am a newlywed for two weeks. we are home from our HM for a week now and our apartment is back to normal. We have both noticed we have been a little short with eachother since we got home. We did have a problem on our flight home which added stress (my jewerly was stolen). we talked last night about it but I just wanted to know if anyone else felt this way after their wedding? Maybe we have tooo much time on our hands now.

Re: post wedding feelings
Sorry to hear about your jewelry and that things are a little stressful at home. I found that I was easily disappointed when the newlywed high didn't last as long as I wanted it to (you know, past our mini-moon) and once we returned home, life was almost back to normal. We started bickering over the usual stuff, and it bothered me a lot at first (even though we're only married 2 days more than you, we only took a long weekend away, so we've been home longer than you).I guess there's just an expectation that things will somehow feel different, and if you lived together like we did before we got married, you know that not much has actually changed. I keep waiting to feel like I'm married, but I just don't feel different.
Maybe you're feeling a combination of the letdown after a high and that how you expected to feel once you were married isn't the way you really feel.
Hang in there!

Re: post wedding feelings
Hi,I know that feeling exactly. It was definitely an adjustment coming back from the wedding and honeymoon- and it's the first time we've lived together. The first 2 weeks or so were a little awkward, but things are great know and I couldn't be any happier. Hang in there!!

Re: post wedding feelings
I think it is natural. MY DH and I had this whole fight after we came home from our mini-moon. And then, I had to go and get really upset because we were fighting only a week after our wedding day.I realized that despite the fact that we have been living together for years and even have a daughter, I expected everything to be very different after the wedding. And we were just SO happy on our wedding and vacation that it was kind of a let down to be back here - expectations are so high. I know we were both feeling it, and it became a vicious cycle.
But, when I stepped back I saw that life for us really is different. We treat eachother differently. And, other people treat us differently, too... It is really actually pretty darn cool

Re: post wedding feelings
I was afraid that I would be sort of bummed that all the excitement was over, but I'm actually glad that the day is over. Don't get me wrong...coming back to work was really difficult and I would much rather be back in Hawaii. I think we were both probably cranky for a few days...but that is probably normal. We've also moved onto the next step now that wedding planning is out of the way...buying a home and just had an offer accepted on a beautiful 4 BR colonial!!

Re: post wedding feelings
I was thrilled the wedding planning was over. We went on a mini moon right away and just got back from our 3 week honeymoon. I have to admit, I wanted to kill people that would ask me how married life was. It felt weird to be married I was like okay- now we are married and no one wanted to call us becuase we were newlywecds, but slowly things got back to normal and we are focusing on the house and re doing things, etc. I am thrilled not to have the stress of the wedding planning over my head anymore. It will get better.

Re: post wedding feelings
it is nice to hear that others had a similar experience. It is different being married. When I show people at work pictures, I call him my 'new husband' because to say my husband was like a wierd role. I did ont realize it until someone said to me it sounded like I had an 'old husband'.....I have never been married before. So now he is my husband. its taking tme to adjust.Welcome New Vendors
