Post wedding/honeymoon blues

Anyone else experience this? I'm soooooo sad right now, I can't believe its all over and now its back to my regular life like nothing happened. Its weird, I don't miss planning the wedding AT ALL, but I am really bummed its all over and I have to just go back to my regular life.

It's totally normal...But still super depressing. It gets better with time. Try to get together with friends on the weekends, or just spend lots of good quality time together as a family. That can make you feel better about everything.

I had that. But after a week or two I was so happy to have the wedding planning behind me. Just start planning your next vacation...that helps!

yes its a big let down after all the planning and excitement. I think thats why after the wedding I was having major baby fever...but now I am kinda back to normal and realizing that I am not ready for the baby quite yet.

I TOTALLY felt like this (and still kinda do). It's so strange to have nothing specific to look forward to and plan for...and just thinking that I'm never gonna be a bride again is so sad. Going back to work without the distractions of the wedding and the honeymoon was extremely depressing. Obviously, you get back into the routine and you stop being SAD, and just start being...resigned. But I still want my white dress back. And the beach in Bali.

I was really bummed, too. But it goes away. I think the TTD shoot helped me, too. It was like my farewell to my wedding day.

And then life gets in the way. We've been so busy this summer with weddings and bach. parties and birthdays and vacations that it kinda snapped me out of it!

Don't worry Ilana!

Edited because I wrote my co-workers name instead of yours! Sorry, I was talking to her and typing!

I went thru the same thing. I was in the airport on the way home from the HM in tears, just so sad that it was all over. I convinced DH to book another trip ASAP and that definitely gave me something really exciting to look forward to.

I TOTALLY had this!!!!

I have to say it took me months to get over it. It didn't help (and I mean this in a serious not conceited way) that when we saw family they were constantly telling stories from it and memories from it. It just made me miss it even more.

I have to say it did help to drag out doing my thank you cards, video, and album - it gave me 'wedding' stuff to still do.

i was the same way. i was so depressed and crabby the week after the honeymoon. plus thinking aboutt the thigns that went wrong the day of the wedding didnt help.

i am now planning a trip to costa rica and researching buying an apartment and planning a baby (just the research part lol). plus we are entertaining a lot now that we have time for our friends again!

Re: Post wedding/honeymoon blues

Yeah, from what I hear that is TOTALLY normal, it happens to many many people and is very common. That said, it didn't happen to me. I was just so happy to get back to normal life and not always have something to worry about. I think the planning and all the work that goes with it just felt like WORK to me and I didn't miss any of it!

I'm sure it will pass with time. Try to find something else to keep yourself busy, plan a vacation (even if really small or far away), find a new hobby. I think having something new to look forward to is helpful with this type of thing.

don't worry...you'll soon get your wedding pictures and feel happy again!

also, something that really helped me was concentrating on a new project...decorating my house for very cheap! check out younghouselove.com and you'll feel much better .

Re: Post wedding/honeymoon blues

I def felt that... like for MONTHS... it goes away eventually. And we kept having things to look forward to that were still wedding-related, like waiting for our proofs, being able to show them to everyone, getting our video and getting our album... which we still get to wait for.

I am sorry to hear you are feeling this! It happened to me and lasted a month or so, totally normal. Try to get something else to look forward to, that is what helped me. I began house hunting and it snapped me right out of it. Good luck!

Honestly:
We enjoyed the planning, but happy its over.
We enjoyed our day to the fullest.
We loved every moment of our honeymoon.

Neither of us ever had post wedding & honeymoon blues.
