My husband and I have been married a year now. We planned our wedding through this website and now we're planning our first child. I just took the home pregnancy test this morning and it came out positive. We couldn't wait and told our parents immediately. My main concern now is how accurate are those home tests? My greatest fear is telling everyone I'm pregnant just to find out it's false. I have an appointment with my doctor this Thursday but I can't wait to tell everyone! Does anyone know just how accurate the tests are? I know they say 99% but I'm not sure if that's just advertising. I'm I unreasonable or are these just my hormones going wild!

I think as long as you saw the line within the recommended time you are ok Good luck and let us know!

Congratulations, b/c the say a line is a line!!! Home tests are 99% accurate-and it's true, they can't advertise falsely about that. False negatives are common, but false + are not!! HPT are just as accurate as blood tests that your Dr will give you! How late is your period, and do you have sxs??
I took 3 pg tests exactly 8 weeks ago to make sure I was pg. I am very regular w/ my cycle and I was 2 days late, and my bbs were really sore, and I had heartburn and burping. Finally I accepted I was pg and we celebrated!! We told our bests friends and immediate family that day. It's a personal choice of who to tell, neither DH nor I could keep such good news a secret. But, after a couple of days I started worrying that something might go wrong, and I sort of regretted telling everyone. So far, so good, and now I don't regret telling anyone. It's your choice if you want to wait. Take the rest of the weekend to think about w/ DH. Congrats again and let us know what happens!!

Congrats to you and your husband. I didn't believe the first test either so I took 3 more but they all came out positive. DH and I promised we weren't going to tell anyone till the third month but of course both of us were way too excited and told the world. I am 15wks today and we just got back from hearing the heartbeat for the first time. Being pregnant is amazing. Even with the moodiness and morning sickness just knowing that there is a little baby growing inside of you!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of luck and feep us updated.
