Preserving/Cleaning Gown

Hi ladies. Anyone have any recommendations for a place to clean & preserve my gown in Suffolk? I don't want to take it just anywhere, want some recommendations from other brides.

TIA!

Unfortunately I can't help with the question posed but, has anyone heard of having the dress just cleaned and vacuum sealed in one of the 'space bags'. A co-worker recommended this to avoid the dress from yellowing but not sure if anyone else has heard it or tried it. Thanks!

no recommendation - but an FYI my cuz had her dress cleaned and preserved in a box. it looked beautiful - a see-thru box top etc. but when her sister got married she wanted to have her wear her veil and they had pinned it to the dress to make it look pretty in the box and it ruined the veil - it had holes in it ---

i want to have mine cleaned but i mght want someone to wear it down the road so im anxious to hear reco's too

that will keep air out...but it will make the dress awfully ugly....it will be wrinkled beyond belief and possibly repair. boxing it up is great because they use 'acid-free' materials. i don't know why some places are cutting up dresses or pinning things together....i highly recommend that where ever you take your dresses, that you demand to see it boxed (which means find a place that boxes on site). that way you KNOW what is in there and how it's in there.
