Re: previous john anthony's brides
We had our reception at JAs in sept. I dont have many pics on file but we got a new scanner for xmas so I will be posting some more soon.
There are several cake choices - there is the standard 4 tier circular wedding cake (standard with package) and then there are cakes that are upgrades (not sure how much they charge but we went with the standard) like square shaped. Our cake was a plain white 4 tier, (choice of 3 icings - we chose whipped cream, choice of 3 fillings- we chose choc. mousse, chioce of several kinds of cakes - we chose yellow) We had the florist provide a dozen cut roses and the chef decorated the cake with them. It looked pretty- I've seen nicer, but this was an area I didnt want to spend extra so for the most part I was satisfied and it tasted delicious. We got the top layer and ate it on our 1 month anniv.

This was probably one of the very few things we were a little disappointed with at our Sept. 2001 reception .. the cake was not really at all what we thought it would be .. it was smaller than we thought it would be, and was really not decorated at all how we had asked. BUT .. it was absolutely delicious!! .. even on our 1 year anniversary!
At our final meeting before the wedding, when we picked everything out, we had actually almost forgotten to go over the cake. As we were saying our thanks and getting ready to get up, I said, 'Oh, what about the cake?' Well, we were shown pictures in a book, we picked out one we liked to be their guide, and a sketch was drawn on our paperwork.
Well, we got the four-tiers (standard), seperated by the pillars, like we asked, but the individual layers of the cake were smaller in diameter and taller in height than our vision. We had our florist send roses to decorate, and instead of using them in the top and center of the bottom three layers, they were run down the entire side of the cake in a line .. which was not appealing to us. We felt it just wasn't a cake with real 'presence,' if you know what I mean ... but it certainly wasn't ugly ... and it definitely was yummy!
