How do you weed through them to get the good pics for the album. I have 700 proofs and no idea which to pick. how many do I need of each sort of event throughout the day?

This is what I did:
I put them in this order: getting ready, pictures before the ceremony, the ceremony, pictures after the ceremony, ch, reception.
The I went through each section and picked out my favorites, and then I made sure I had everything represented (i.e. the BP, each family, etc)
Then I lined them up in order to make sure that they told a story and this is what it looked like
We got albums from BBB (they hold 432) & put all the similar ones in order (sorted them first). Then we used post-its for possible choices. We had over 1100!!!!

tell it like a story. i was originally gouing to get 50 then i upped it to 70 now i have even more than that... aski your photograqpher about a designer album it may help ya. i had to spend more but in the end i will be so happy
lay them on a bed thats what i did start from the beginning and take out pics you automatically hate
i also sepertated all parts of the days in zip lock bags.. if that helps
like: church, recpetion, me and hubby, just me, ect

That is the hardest part, that is why my album is still not done.

i took all the proofs and timelined them
I put them in photo albums
then we are using the post it note strips on them to which ones we like
I have different color strips so our parents can tab them too.
took me a long time to organize them but it was worth it!

I guess I was really, really lucky - my photographer gave us our proofs along with a suggested layout. It made my job really easy. I switched out some of the shots she selected, but I thought her layout was great.

we had about 800 proofs, I went thru all of them 1st I put them in order from the days events then took out the ones that were similar, then put the best ones on the top,,,,then you just go from there

My DH and I have been through our proof albums (and we have over 1200 proofs ) mutliple times, and just keep sticking post-its on our favorites or the ones that jump out at us.
We were lucky because the photographer put them in order for us, so we don't have to jump around.

I bought albums at Target and started picking out my fav's. I had to narrow it down many times, and I was allowed to pick 100 proofs it was NOT easy!
I had my best bud help me choose. took me about 2 weeks to decide.
