QOTD~ 3/16/09

What activities do you u miss from your elementary School days???

I miss going on field trips such as the planetarium or old Stonybrook when we chrurned our own butter and got to see how things were done in the old day., Having our Science Fairs, and the times our Moms or Dads gave us money to buy them flowers for mothers or Fathers day and then thank us for buying it for them... Now that I think about it I really miss those times.

Enjoy ladies!

I miss those trip too.

We still do day trips to the planetarium or the aquarium. I love history esp new york / long island history.

I recommend the new york tennement museum in the lower east side. You walk through and old building and they re-established how it would have been during that era and tell you a story of a family that lived there. It was so interesting.

We had pizza day, every other Friday. It was $1 for a slice of pizza. I also miss our class trips.

Stephanie, you MISS SCIENCE FAIRS? OMG, they were the worst for me. I hated coming up with a project, hated presenting it. I did one on the inner ear and can still smell the clay I used to make it. UGHHHHH

LOL! I know iam such a nerd..Actually one year in 5th grade. I had a project called Magnetta the magic dancer!! LMAO.. It was a paper cut out of a woman and on the end of her hands and feet were paper clips, well using magnetes and a battery she was supposed to 'Dance'. Obviously she was supposed to move because of the paper clips and magnets. Well it didnt work when I got to school, so when they came to judge me I stood next to the desk with my leg pressed against it, and when i switched it on i shook the desk with my leg to make it look like it was working!! LMAO!!! I got an A- on it!!

the good old school days were the BEST. I just LOVED holidays
- like when my school would have the Thanksgiving Feast and my class would make homemade apple sauce and dress up like Pilgrims. lol.
- Christmas was cool too in my school because we had a little Christmas Shop where us little kids could buy gifts for our family at like $1 a gift. It was fun shopping there, made me feel soooo grown up
- giving out Valentines was cool too and all the CANDY and hyperness of my classmates
-BIRTHDAYS!!! I loved bringing in cupcakes and then walking around to the other classes to give them to the other teachers. haha

Yeah, those were fun times. Even now, I'm still really into the holidays. When I was a teacher at the Preschool, I ALWAYS made sure that they had the best time and could take some really fun memories from it
