QOTD for April 14th, 2003

Hi all, I need to spice this board up a bit since I will be here in 33 days and it has seemed to die down so much .

If this was done before, please accept my apologies in advance.

What was the ONE most memorable thing on your wedding day? The one thing that will stick out clearly in your mind 20 years from now? The one thing that makes you get chills?
The kiss? Walking down the aisle?
The exchanging of the rings? Your first dance? Being pronounced Mr & Mrs?

Definitely watching my husbands face as I walked down the aisle.

Whenever I hear our wedding song I get the chills and sometimes I just literally start bawling. It just touches me that we got to dance to that song to start our lives.

wow - that's a tough one! Definitely the entire ceremony. I don't have one specific moment, but the entire service was beautiful, and so special to me. Since we had seen each other before and got a lot of pics out of the way (I had been worrying about the timing) we were both so relaxed and were able to enjoy ourselves.
I vividly remember when the minister was reading our version of the Blessing of the Hands, just staring into DH's eyes and it literally felt like it was only the two of us in the church. That's hard for me since I was so nervous!
Ahhh - It'll always be a wonderful memory for me

Most memorable was definately my DH signing Paradise by the dashboard light(even the baseball comentary word for word, never give him a microphone )

20 years from now...How beautiful I felt and my DH face when he first saw me.

Hmmm, I guess I have 2. The first time Peter saw me and having our time alone to take pics before the ceremony. And, definitely the entire ceremony. I cried my eyes out, the vows, readings, etc. were so beautiful. I was so happy!
I want to do it again!!!

The two moments that stand out is from me waiting behind those 2 closed doors ready to walk down the aisle- my heart was just about to beat out my chest! When those doors opened, I swear I heard someone gasp. When I got to the end of the aisle my DH said 'hi!'.. it was so cute!

The second moment is us waiting to be introduced into the reception and when we did everyone was cheering for us and we walked around the entire dance floor and everyone was waving at us- it was AWESOME!

My most memorable was when my 18 month old son, who was our ring bearer, ran down the aisle into his Daddy's arms and left the FG all by herself. I haven't seen it yet, video will be done this week, but I know that willdefinately be it.
I also remember my amazing Matre D, seeing how nervous I was before the ceremony, having a shot waiting for me when it was over!

I dont really have specific moments that stick out...i remember a lot of it in long story like memories rather than flashes of important seconds. Maybe in a few years that will change...but now I just think it was an awesome day.

The entire day was memorable, the way I felt, the way people kept saying they are having fun and how great I looked. The way I was treated. I just felt loved and wonderful.

The part that we always talk about was the choir. I had the HS kids come & sing & they were terrific. Among other things, they sang the Phantom song at the Unity candle lighting & I was moved to tears by them. My name is mentioned in the song & they sang that part so sweetly! It was a beautiful ceremony!!!

I don't know if it was any one thing that stood out more, I have to say the whole day was the most memorable! Although saying our vows was pretty intense and unforgettable!! (Especially for me, since I hyperventilated! LOL)

On Sat we picked up our 'billboard' from the framer and hung it up and I spent all weekend just staring at reliving the whole day!! The whole day just comes back to you and gives you goosebumps!!

I can't wait until your on this side 'officially' Jennbaby!!!

our song our song!

Every time we listen to it we dance – we just hold each other in the kitchen and sway. And remember. It’s so precious. It’s not a song you hear on the radio or anything, but we always have our wedding CD in the player and whenever we catch it we just gravitate towards each other. The best thing about it – is we have people over all the time for dinner – and the couples all do it too! It’s like the song represents SO much to so many people!

I too am going to say the entire day was so memorable. My husband turned into a different person that day. He is usually pretty quiet but even his students couldn't believe what an wild man he turned into! He did some John Travolta type dancing during the garter ceremony and he sang at the church and then got on one knee. He turned into Mr. Romeo on that day. Not that I didn't know he had it in him, but it was a happy overwhelming feeling that surronded us all day.

I guess my favorite part was feeling so in love...like I was walking on a cloud. When he twirled me during our first dance under a chandelier I felt like Belle from a Disney movie. It was the best day of my life. I want to do it over again and again.

I would have to agree that the whole day was incredibly memorable and I would love to do it again (with the same man of course ).

When I first read this post the immediate memory that jumped into my head was of us, just after the ceremony and before the receiving line, when we had a couple of minutes alone and we stood there hugging and kissing. We were just completely lost in each other and in the moment. I think it was at that moment that we both realized that this was our life's committment and love and we had such overwhelming feelings of joy and happiness that we were both teary eyed. I get weepy and goosebumpy when I think about it.

Another memorable moment was driving home from our reception. We were married 12 days after 9/11 and people were still reeling from the shock of it all. My daughter had written 'Just Married' in soap, on the side and back windows of my car and we decided to leave it on for the ride home from Lake Ronkonkoma to Oyster Bay. It was about 6 at night and still light out so you could see it clearly. I still had my wedding dress and headpiece (without the veil) on since I was changing at home. Well the whole way home on the LIE we had people honking their horns and yelling 'Congratulations' and 'Good Luck' out their windows at us. Everyone was waving and smiling. It was the first time in awhile that I saw so many strangers smile at each other. That was a terrific feeling.

Jenn I am sure that your day will be filled with memorable moments too and then you can share them all with us!

The one that sticks out the most is seeing my husband crying as a walked down the aisle.

But some other top moments:
- the limo ride with my father
- the limo ride after the church with my husband, he started to cry when he told me how he sister said that he was the spitting image of his father (who passed away 3 years prior)
- my father singing at the reception
- dancing with my 3 brothers

Probably my husband singing our wedding song to me while we danced, 'From This Moment' and that is one of the few things I do have on video, thankfully. Another moment was when my Dad got up and dedicated a song to my Mom 'Through the Years' and choked up while dedicating it, I think the whole place choked up...sadly I don't have that on video (since we only had a family and friend video).
