Oh boy I thought this was going to be easy! I get 100 pictures in my album, so I started picking them tonight. I have over 400 left to go through and only 12 more to pick!
So my questions are:
How many photos were inlcuded in your package?
How many did you end up choosing?
And how much money did it cost for extra pictures in the album?

Re: Question about Albums
We had a 100 picture album and over 1500 pictures. We had no problem picking out the first 75 or so and then had to go back. We then went through the ones we had and figured out if there were large sections missing without a picture, any special people we knew we needed to include etc. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to begin with so we just went from there. It took us about a month! It;s not easy!

Re: Question about Albums
100 pictures in your album is a lot! I think we had 50 in ours and ended up choosing 60. I'm not sure how much extra it cost us. It's a daunting task, but it will get easier to narrow them down. My advice: make 3 piles- 1 for the definites, 1 for the maybes and 1 for the ones you can rule out. As you go through the piles you'll start to realize what you can live with and what you can live without (even in the definite pile).

Re: Question about Albums
we had a traditional album. 60 pics with over 400 proofs. We kinda had an idea what we wanted before we started picking pics. I would start by writing a list of what you really want in your album.

Re: Question about Albums
Hey T,
With my Photo...Fantasia
I have 80 pics in my album. I can add more but I am not sure the price.
I also have 80 in my parent album but they are the same shots from my album.

Re: Question about Albums
we're in a really nebulous situation.... I'm assembling all the albums (to save $$$). We received about 300 proofs the other day, with another 700-800 coming in several days.
I think I have to calculate how much space per page, and what size each pic should be
so far, most of the proofs have 2-3 pics in a row that look almost identical, so I think I can just put a few proofs in some albums, without paying for copies of absolutely everything.

Re: Question about Albums
We ended up with about 74 pictures in our album. We did a traditional album though. To save on some pages, we did one or 2 pictures to a page (for example family pictures). All in all I was happy with the selections.
When it came down to picking pictures, we decided on the ones that best told the story of our day. Not too many alone pictures & a lot of group shots plus tons of just DH & I.

We will have 50 in ours -- but I have a feeling we'll add more.

That's a really good idea. We're making our own album and I'm going to use this advice!

Re: Question about Albums
We had 50 in ours but I think we ended up with 65 or so. We went through and picked what we wanted the frist time and kept going through. When we had it down to about a 100 we layed out each picture in front of us and made sure there weren't to many duplicates (eg 3 bridal party shots, 3 family shots, etc.) and then from there we removed pictures.
