question about HR/tax forms...help! (x-post from 2010 board)
OK. So now that I am married, what do I need to do???
Do i need to update my W-4 tax forms at work? DH/John was asking me about this yesterday. And, honestly, i never thought about it.
If i do update them now, do you think more or less will be taken from my paycheck since now we are 'combining' income?
any idea?
Anything else need to be updated? HELLLPPPP

How much gets taken out depends on what you declare and what you made last year. Our accountant said we should declare 0 because the most amount will get taken out. I'm really glad he told us that because we don't have any major write-offs and we owed money this year, so I only imagine what we would have paid if we put in less.

Our accountant told us this too... he said we could FILE married but declare single 0, and not change anything... so this is what we are doing.

I haven't changed mine, I left it as single 0 since they take the most out you will be more likely to get money back at the end of the year.
