We got our video this weekend - its wonderful. So creative and artistic, but its long. I had expected 1-1.5 hours (thats his average length). Ours is over 2. There's definitely some ceremony and reception time that could have been cut.
How long is everyone else's video?

Re: question about video length
Our unedited is 3 hours. Nelson told us ours will be about an hour. I can't wait to see it.
Did the company not ask you if there is anything you wanted not to include??? We definitely do not want the entire ceremony or reception, we want that in a re-cap format.

Re: question about video length
Hi Lisa! Please check your Yahoo mail when you get a chance. I just sent you a message (which is long overdue!)
To answer your question, I think our edited version is 1.5 hours and our raw footage is around 3.5/4.0 hours.

Re: question about video length
Our edited version is about an hour and change, maybe another 15 to 20 mins after that.

Re: question about video length
He asked that we tell him stuff we absolutely wanted or didn't want, and we left the rest up to him. I didn't expect my whole ceremony or as much dancing.
Don't get me wrong - I could watch every minute of it over and over. I'm thrilled with the quality of the work and elegance of the video. I just expected it to be shorter.
I'm going to ask him about it.

Re: question about video length
Lisa, your profile says you want to do it again. Do you want to do the whole thing again? I think about it sometimes and I think about how quickly everything went by. The celebrating I would want to do again. I do not remember much from the ceremony. I would NOT want to do the planning part of it again

Re: question about video length
Mine is about 2 hours edited. When we show it to people, we, make that my DH, fast forwards through the church -- although he does stop it long enough to show everyone the part where I hyperventilate saying our vows !!!!
As for doing it all over again -- last year at this time I was FLIPPING/STRESSING OUT, and although I would NOT want to do that again, I would like to re-do the day again. Even though I had a great time (after I hyperventilated it was a piece of cake ), I would eat something and enjoy myself even more! And then of course there would be the honeymoon to look forward to!!

Re: question about video length
Shamma - I actually really enjoyed the planning. There were definitely stressful times, but overall it was great. I think it helped (and in someways hurt) that I was far away from NY during the planning. It didn't take over our lives (just made for some hectic weekends).
But I'd opt just to do the day over again

Lisa are you in NY permanently now?? I agree with you, I would want the day all over again, w/o me doing any of the work tho'

Re: question about video length
I just got my video also.....it is about 2 hours w/editing. the only thing we don't have is the raw footage, we had to call and ask, and then they said we could have it for nothing, is that weird? should they just have given it to us? i don't think the contract really says anything about it. i am very happy with the video, we just want the raw footage because there were some funny things at the reception that aren't on the edited copy....i guess they can't get it all in there.!!

Not in NY permanently yet. We're talking about making the move in the next year or so.
