question about wedding gifts...

My father is getting remarried in May 28th. After he gave us a very generous gift to dh and I for our wedding, as well as helped pay for alot of it also.
What do we give him and my stepmother??? money???We really can't think of a nice, thoughtful gift for them...
suggestions please...

I wouldn't give money. I gave my mother and stepfather show tickets, dinner and a overnight stay. Another idea, I got this for my wedding, is a gift certificate to www.bedandbreakfast.com. You can get it in any demonination and it something they might enjoy.

When my dad got remarried we bought them the cake cutting/serving set, champagne flutes and a cake topper for their wedding!!

Are they going on a HM? You can get them a GC for dinner for wherever they're going. Or, shamrock12472's bed and breakfast idea is a good one! Good luck!

If you can afford it, what about a nice mini-vacation? You can send them to a Bed & Breakfast somewhere within driving distance or you can go a little more $$ and send them to DR or the Bahamas for a couple of days.

I don't give money to my family members who are in the generation above me- it's just weird. But, I would give a gift certificate.

And, I think it's a great idea to get some of the personalized gifts like the cake serving set, maybe an album for them, or have their portrait printed and framed for them after the wedding.
