Do you ever get months were it is really really really heavy, I mean like REAL heave like a waterfall that comes out of nowhere. I know this is TMI but I mean like you are bleeding through everything???
This happens to me like every few months and sometimes it has happened when I was out and didnt realize it and it was VERY EMBARRASSING! It has actually happened 3 times in public where I had a mess to clean up I try to be conscious of it but it just happens out of nowhere sometimes! Please tell me I am not alone :(

i would talk to gyno- before the pill- i remember my flow being a lot heavier. maybe that would help you too!
i feel your pain on the accident thing though, i always carry spare underwear during that time and wear dark pants just in case

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
Do you mean you bleed through a regular tampon? WHen its heavy for me I can bleed thru in about 3 hours. But thats just the first day. sorry if tmi. If you are literally pouring out every hour. I would ask your gyno what they thought?

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
my coworker has that happen to her almost every month. she actually leaked onto her chair at work, and had to get a special type of chair that won't show or absorb stains. she has fibroids, and her gyn told her that's at least part (if not all) of the cause of her heavy flow. she is also not on the pill.

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
happened to me one time and i got real scared. This wasnt normal blood flow at all. Honestly a tampon would be soaked in minutes. I really freaked out when i had put my sweats on and no joke i had blood to my knees in minutes. It was crazy and scary but not sure if you mean that its that bad. Only happened to me once and i seriously was having a hard time walking out of the bathroom bc of how much blood was coming out, sorry TMI. But it was only for that one night. But this was to the extreme bc there was no way i would even be able to go outside at all, i barely made it from the bathroom to the bedroom
Luckily this happened to my moms friend before this happened to me so my mom knew it was normal. Her friend went to the hospital bc it is crazy when you have that much, when your pants are soaked in mins that can freak anybody out. The Dr. Had told her its normal and does happen to some women once in a blue moon.

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
yes, this happens to me, I hate it, and I only get it for three days and it is the worst three days of my life. and I told dh husband I was going to talk to the Dr. because I am on my feet all day and it makes me miserable. and this is not and exaggeration I literally take two boxes of tampons and a bag of pads to work with me. this also happens to my sister. and NO I am not on the pill.

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
Its not every month but only every few months...like my body is just empty out like crazy. And yes like change tampon every 30 minutes and wear a pad. Its heavy heavy for 1 day and then tapers off. Eww gross...def tmi but I just had to talk about this for a minute!
Being on the pill def helped but I hate the pill and dont want to be on it!

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
My mom was this bad. Before the pill I was very heavy. Some months heavier than others. I don't even think you need to go to the doctor, just give a call. It sounds like this is common.

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
every 3rd period or so, I have a very heavy flow I go through super absorbant tampons every 2-3 hours for the first 2-3 days and then it is lighter for the last 3-4 days
im actually glad you brought up this topic and I dont meant o hijack your thread BUT (sorry, TMI) does anyoen else pass large clots the first 2-3 days? I do, every month, and I don't know if that is normal
feel better, just wear dark pants, bring a change of clothes and pray for the best

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
Before I went on the pill I used to have a very heavy flow for the first couple of days... and it also used to last an entire week and I was very irregular... never knew when it was coming. Now, I only get it for 4 days, it's much lighter and I always know the exact day it's coming. I am NOT looking forward to the day I go off the pill!

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
Sounds a bit much but I get heavy every other month. ALways super pads will work for now. YOu have to see them. I almost peed myself laughing when I did. They are enormous, so much so I even showed DH! I would check to see. Hopefully you won't a D&C. good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Question about your Aunt Flo
This happened to my mother in her late 30s. But it wasn't random, it was pretty much every time. She had uterine fibroids. I would get it checked out, because the treament for her was a hysterectomy. That is why she is pushing me to have kids so soon, because this happened to her so young!

This sounds like my cycle. Every 3 months its much heavier and i pass clots. My gyno said it's perfectly normal even though I'm on the pill.
