Question about your wedding ring....

Question about your wedding ring....

Does anyone else notice that their wedding band is hard to get off sometimes? I usually have to work a little to get it over my knuckle, but some days I literally have to soap it up to get it off. Do you think it's too small? My mother and sister both say their wedding bands feel the same way, and that in the winter they get a lot looser. I'm not sure if I should go back to Elsa Jewelers and have it made bigger or not. They did size me the first time... How does your ring feel????

Thanks!

My ring feels the same way. Sometimes it is easy to slide off my finger, other times I have to put lotion on. During the winter though, it becomes much looser. If you haven't worn it yet during the winter months, I would wait to see.

my e-ring and w-ring fit exactly the same - they're on snugly, but not too tight. In the colder weather they're a little looser. If it's really hot out I sometimes have to work it off a little, but I don't mind. I'd prefer that over a ring that's too loose.

Mine fit snugly but yes your fingers swell a bit in the 'warmer' weather (where is this weather?).
Wait till fall & see how it fits then.

Or if it really bothers you, have it made bigger, than if it gets looser, they can sauder little 'balls' on the inside of the ring to make it snug again.

mine fit fine. I agree with Jenn, in the warm weather your fingers (knuckles) tend to swell. I would wait to around September and see how it is then. How about on cold days? Do you still have a problem taking it off? If you feel completely uncomfortable, then get it resized.

It is not good to frequently mess around w/re-sizing your rings...it weakens them in the long run.

Typically, the ring fits properly when you have to 'walk' it over your knuckle, so based on what you've said, I'd guess your ring is sized correctly already. If it gets a little more snug this time of year, that's pretty typical as your joints will swell with the warmer weather.

Thanks everybody. I'll give it until around September to make my final decision. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet!

Re: Question about your wedding ring....

I have the opposite problem actually - my size is a 4.5 so they had a hard time sizing the rings. My e-ring was bought in a 5 so I had these balls inserted on the inside of the band to keep it from slipping around. I would be careful about making it bigger though I'm sure most jewelers can do it. Wait till winter to see how it feels if possible.

I wouldnt make it any bigger from the sound ofit.
I want to make my ring 1/4 smaller but I am waiting for the summer swelling to happen.
My ring keeps twisting b/c it's a little big.

Re: Question about your wedding ring....

My wedding ring is a bit bigger than my e-ring so I don't have that problem. I don't want to re-size it just in case I get heavier or my fingers swell if I get pregnant, etc. Plus, my e-ring keeps it in place.
