What about your DH made you know that he was the one???
For me I had dated a lot of men in my life but only 3 very seriously and he was the only one that could deal with my temper, accept my irrational thoughts of PMS and was the same with coming up with the bizarre ideas in the shower. He understood and was the same with being goofy at times. There are moments that for what ever reason I would feel like skipping down the aisle in the supermarket and he didn't tell me to grow up. Though personality wise all three men were very similar, they all like each other and have met several times. My DH was the only one that completely got me.
The other thing was seeing him with my best friends daughter when she was born. I was too freaked to even hold her because she was so little he scooped her right up and was incredible with her. My best friend and I still cry when we reflect on that day.
Ugh I love that man

Re: Question for March 31st
in the first couple of minutes that we first met, we literally had this tunnel vision time stopping moment. when we started to get to know each other, we had these freakish little similarities that seemed very serendipitous. our last names are one letter off, his b-day is 8/1 mine is 1/8, my godmother was his maillady for 17 years (we met 4 years ago) our parents have the same initial S and L, he and my dad are both leos, my mom and his dad are both geminis, and his mom and i are both capricorns, he had a cat whose name was like my nickname and just other weird things like that. it just felt like there were these little signs.

Ditto..his humor and how silly we are together. I loved that...
I loved how it felt like we were this old married couple from the first day we met. Bickering and laughing, bickering and laughing....

Re: Question for March 31st
That's a tough one for me to answer. We denied that we had a relationship for about 4 months before finally admitting that we weren't seeing anyone else. We had both just come out of a relationship and weren't looking for anything.
I guess I would say that I was able to be completely myself around him. It was just something different with him than with my other boyfriends that I'd had. We communicate so well, and we just know each other so well. We seriously have the kind of relationship where everything is out on the open, and people have told us that they want their relationships to be like ours.

Re: Question for March 31st
I don't know how I knew so fast, but it was just one of those feelings. I mean I knew within 2 dates. I had NEVER felt that way before about anyone. He was just sweet and cute and comfortable to be around. He wasn't perfect, but I just felt like I belonged with him. After a couple of dates he sent me the most amazing e-mail; I sat at work reading it with tears streaming down my face. It was so beautifully written and heartfelt....oh I just knew he was 'it'

Re: Question for March 31st
Darren gets me and makes me laugh like no one else in the world. I can be behaving one of my irrational bit@chy freakouts and he can do one thing which makes me laugh and then I am not so freaked out anymore...he has been the only one who has ever been able to do this.

Re: Question for March 31st
DH & I dated in college ... twice.
At 19, I wasn't ready for the kind of love & commitment we were facing and took the easy way out and left.
We went our separate ways for over 6 years. During that time I dated countless men not worthy of the dirt on my shoe. I realized what I wanted was DH.
We came into contact again one day and now we are married. I believe we were always meant to be together and this time the time was right for us.

Re: Question for March 31st
I had a feeling very early in (and I am sorry I didn't see this before I posted my Q! I am sorry they are so similar. )
I had to move out of my apartment on short notice. As soon as I mentioned it (I was very stressed about it) he offered to help immediately.
A month later I had to go to the hospital and stay a week because my asthma was out of control. He visited every day and stayed at my apt. (he lived in Manhattan at the time) so he could take care of my cats. When I got out, he came to stay with me for another week. I knew that the guy I dated before him might have called, but I did not see him putting much of his life on hold to help me and take care of me. And at this point, we were really just seeing each other on the weekends.

Re: Question for March 31st
We were friends for two years before we started dating, and I knew that he was one of my favorite people to be around. We both used to eat in the kosher kitchen in college, and whenever I heard the door open, I would hope it was him and just be so happy when he was around.
When we decided to start dating, I knew he was the right guy for me b/c he was the only person I had dated who I felt I could totally be myself around. I was so comfortable with him, and I never felt like I needed to hide my true feelings.

Re: Question for March 31st
As many of you said, DH is truly the ONLY man who ever really 'got me' on all levels... and he's truly the only man I could ever be completely myself around (stupid, whiny, moody, immature, mushy .. he accept me any way I am, and to me that is how I know he is my man! )

Re: Question for March 31st
He was the first person I ever felt I could be totally honest and myself with from the very first day. I found myself confiding in him things I had never told ANYONE ever.
