question for the newlyweds on gift giving

I had several guests (adults, but our age) who just had their names on their parents cards.

Now, some of them are starting to have e-parties, weddings, etc.

Any of you in the same boat?

What kind of gift do we give someone who wrote their name on their parent's card at our parties and wedding?

I agree with just a normal gift but depends on how close you are to them.
