I know you get bustled after your first dance, however, while you danced, did you hold the dress or let it hang on the floor while dancing (is this possible to let it hang with out it getting in the way?)

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
I bustled before the first dance but my train also had a loopy string under the skirt that I could slip on my wrist to make it easier to walk around with. You could ask your salon to be sure to have the something like that so you can have the first dance without being bustled.

I also bustled before the first dance. I bustled immediately after the ceremony so I could walk around easily during cocktail hour.

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
i threw it over my arm- as you can see my dress was super long ( my train was detchablle though), i wanted my train on for the first dance- then i took it off. it worked out great that way-
With the excitement of the moment I didn't stop to have it bustled until midway through the reception. For the first dance I just threw it over my arm.

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
I bustled mine after the cocktail hour and before our first dance. Mine also had one of them loop-y things I could use on the underside of the train to wrap around my wrist while we walked around.

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
Mine wasn't too long so I had it down until after the 1st set of dance songs. I pretty much used the loopy thing to cart it around until then.
Actually, my bustle is a sore point. When it came time to bustle, my mom, who knew how do it forgot her glasses. The Bridal Attendant didn't know how to, so it came out looking bad, IMO. I was upset b/c no one stopped me all night to help smooth it out! People said later on, that they didn't notice, But I Did.
Moral ... make sure more than one person knows how to do it .. and they BRING THEIR GLASSES WITH THEM!!!

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
I took mine off before cocktail hour started. It was too long and heavy.

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
I had a detachable train and I wore it for our announcement and had my bridal attendant take it off before our first dance. My train was huge and there was no way I was going to dance with it.
We found it easier to dance without it. Otherwise I would've tripped over it, even in my arm.

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
I drapped it over my arm, but be careful....no one told me that it was up to high and my crinolin(sp?) was sticking out on the bottom! I wish I had just let it hang..when we danced we didn't move around that much anyway....

Re: Question FOR those who had a long train
I bustled mine in a French bustle before the Reception during the Cocktail hour. We didn't attend our cocktail hour, we used that time to spend together and take pictures. I had a Cathedral length train.
