Question for those who used Platinum Video

Hi - I need to choose a few songs for my video, and I'm having a difficult time!

For the pre-ceremony, I'm planning to choose a few classical pieces - probably Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Spring and the Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary.

Cocktail hr - Pete suggested jazz music which is fine

My question is with the 2 options with the recap:

1 - one song with all slow motion....I'd use our first dance song, Unchained Melody. I haven't seen this slow motion effect before - how does it come out?

2 - two songs - 1 with slow motion, 1 in real time.

For the faster song, I was thinking about LOVE by Nat King Cole or My First, My Last, My Everything by Barry White.

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated!

Pete picked all the music for ours, and its wonderful. I don't recall all the songs, though I know there are some Enya songs in there that fit perfectly.
For the re-cap we have our first dance song - By your Side, by Sade. I'm wondering if its all in slow motion - maybe I'll watch it and refresh my memory...

Yes, he also suggested Enya who I like, so depending on what he thinks about the classical music, maybe I'll just go with Enya.

When he told me about the slow motion recap, I really didn't think much of it, but now I'm wondering if it'll look odd since most other videos I've seen are in real time.

Re: Question for those who used Platinum Video

ok...watching it now. I love my video (my anti-video parents have watched it 8 times already).

Bride's house - a lovely song thats name I don't know, just instrumental. Followed by Enya (sounds like her anyway though I don't recognize the song) as he moves to the church. (some slow mo and real time mixed in?)

Ceremony - no cover music, just whats happening during the ceremony (all real time).

outside the church - receiving line, pictures, etc. - definitely Enya (again some slo mo and real time?)

arriving at Lands End, grounds, etc - finishes off above Enya song

Cocktail hour - Sade song 'I couldn't love you more' (all real time)

Scenic pans of ballroom, cake, centerpieces - a classical piece (that room looked awesome, if I do say so myself. Everything was so elegant & beautiful!)

Reception - what the band was playing at the time.

OK the recap, Sade 'By your side' some black & white 8mm mixed in (which I LOVE), looks like slow mo and real time but its almost hard to tell. It could be all slow mo, but its very subtle. It just all flows so well. Even the parts where people are dancing to different music looks great.

Edited to say I'm questioning whats slow motion and whats real time. Seems like there are times I can tell its obviously real time, but other times I'm just not sure. Given that, I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Re: Question for those who used Platinum Video

thanks so much for your help Lisa!

Did you use any other music for the recap other than Sade? I'm just wondering how it will seem to have 1 slow and 1 faster dance song.....but worst case I'll call and speak with Pete about this!

Thanks again - I can't wait to see mine! I can't believe it will be ready 2 months after the wedding - I was expecting to wait at least 6 months, from what I've heard in the past. Now my family can watch it while everyone's here for the holidays

Re: Question for those who used Platinum Video

my video took 5 months. Initially he said July, but it took another two months. Pete keep pushing it back - I guess he was really busy.

There was only one song during our re-cap, so I can't tell you how it would looks with 2.

Re: Question for those who used Platinum Video

uh oh - I hope mine doesn't get pushed back! But there shouldn't be THAT much footage - he didn't film me getting ready of taking our pre-ceremony pics, he just met us at the church and went from there.

Thanks again for your help!!

You can never go wrong with Sade or Barry White.
