Question for you newlyweds

Question for you newlyweds

How did you handle friends and close family memebers who seemed not to care AT ALL about your wedding? Assuming of course that you had that problem.

Did you confront them about it? did any of you ask them to step down from your BP?

I'm really curious... I'm having a lot of issues! and from all people, my Mom is on that list as well

Re: Question for you newlyweds

I have to say I was very lucky in that area. I didn't get complaints or anything like that. I did have a lil problem with my father and the guest list but I told him that it was my day and I was paying for it. He understood that since I was paying for it he didn't need all of his work friends that I don't even know there

If you're having a problem with family I would mention it to them and let them know that it's YOUR DAY.

Good Luck

Thanks... I've actually mentioned it to a few of them and have gotten no results

I had it out w/my Mom earlier (over the phone) and now I feel bad because I know I upset her.

no and no.

I had the same issues, including my mom. Mom and I went to one of my fittings and as the seamstress was putting on my gown, my mom made her leave to go help my MOM...leaving me half naked!

My bridesmaids stunk.

Now that the wedding is over, everyone has gone back to 'normal' except that I am not as helpful to everyone else as I used to be.

I didn't really have that problem. However, I really did not expect my friends (BMs included) to get too into the whole process. I hardly discussed any of the planning with them, it at all. I hated the whole planning process anyway and did not want to bother them with the details. It's not something too many people are interested in.

There were times when I felt that DH or my mom were not being as helpful as I would have liked. When that happened, I just told them and that would usually work.

Other than DH and my mom, I did not confront anyone about it. One of my BMs was not as into my wedding as the other BM but I did not ask her to step down or confront her. It really didn't bother me.

I didn't confront them and I didn't ask them to step down. A couple of my BMs completely blew off my bachelorette party, which I had to plan myself I learned very early on that the less you expect from them, the less chance for disappointment. It's okay - they'll all get married one day and then they'll know what it's like.

I really didnt confront them about it. I am the first of all my friends to get married and for 4 of the 6 girls it was their first time being in a bridal party... they just didnt get it. The other 2 were much more helpful and supportive.
Like Jimmysbride said one day they will get married and I hope then they realize what morons they were
