Question from a bride to be...How did you all decide who was going to be in charge of finances, bill paying, bank accts?

We merged our money before we were married, and Patrick takes care of everything financial. This was a mutual decision because A) He is excellent with money and numbers in general, and B) I am a HUGE spender, and I need his practical side to keep me in check. We always have all of our bills payed on time, most are paid ahead of time, and there's always lots of room left for fun. If I were in charge of our money we NEVER would have been able to swing a wedding and a house withing 8 weeks of each other.

Oh, and all bank accounts and 1 of our cars are in both our names, but credit cards and the other 2 cars are in one or the other, and we split who's name is on the bills. He has a few and so do I.

After we got married, we opened a joint account, I wanted to have my own, because I had a large sum saved up before we got married, but that didnt sit well with Jay.
I do all the bills, bceause he would NEVER remember when to pay the bills.
We have our own credit cards.
