question on a thank you

My husband's cousin and fiancee came up from Florida for our wedding. She never gave us a gift. Should I send her a thank you or wait and see if she sends us something. Both her sister and mother gave us a gift. So I don't get it. I'm not greedy and need her to get us something, I just thought it was strange.

i'd say send her a thank you now to thank her for coming to the wedding.
if she gets you a gift, you can always send her another thank you

I woudl thank her for traveling up for your wedding and being with you on your special day.

Besides sending her the thank you my jog her memory, if she is going to send you a gift

funny, i was just having that conversation with my husband. he didnt want me to send a friend a thank you because she didint bring her guest and she didnt give a gift. I just wanted to send her a TY anyway for coming I just thought it was the right thing to do. I invited her cause i wanted her there not for the gift.

I didn't send thank you cards to those who did not give a gift or even a card. Looking back however, I would now have probably sent a thank you for them coming to the wedding, etc.

Agree...they did come all teh way up from Florida.

I def sent a thank you to those guests who came up from Florida. Most of them did not get us a gift but we figured for a couple it was about 300 for flights and then to stay in the hotel for Friday and Saturday it was another 300. 600 bucks is a lot just to go to a wedding I completly understand why they did not get us anything. Send a thanky ou for them traveling so far to be with you on your special day.
