QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

I thought these might be good questions to ask those who have already gone through this to assist those who are going to go through it (besides, it'll send you girls on a trip down memory lane -- LOL):

1) What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

2) What is one thing you DIDNT do but wish you did?

3) What is one thing you DID but wish you didn't?

4) Any advice for our wedding day?

THANKS GIRLS. Im sure this will be a big help to us brides-to-be!

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

I think the best moment was seeing my now-husband at the end of the aisle waiting for me to walk down with my Dad. I can't think of anything that I didn't do that I wish I did right now or anything I wish I did but didn't.
Advice: Savor every moment of your wedding day, it goes by sooo quickly. Little things you drive yourself crazy over before the day don't seem to matter when the day arrives, everything works out!

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

I agree with Annie, the most memorable moment was walking down that aisle with my father there beside me, and seeing my husband for the first time.
There is NOTHING I would have done differently that day, or wish I hadnt done. I wish the night could have lasted longer

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

My cousin gave me great advice. She said that as you turn the corner to begin the walk down the aisle, stop for a moment and look around the church or hall. Look at the guests, your husband etc. This will help to set it in your memory.

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

Definitely the moments before coming down the aisle, and the walk itself .. it was so difficult to see my groom standing there through all the people crowded in the pews who were all trying to see me. But, I do have a few other priceless moments .. like my little nephew running around at the reception having a grand time as my brother followed after him .. it was such a cute little chase .. you would see him disappear behind a table, then emerge, only to disappear behind another .. and there was my brother keeping after him. Totally adorable. The other moment, was having a special song played for my brother and sister-in-law .. they celebrated their 10-year anniversary just days before our wedding, so we had Eddie (Parameters) play their wedding song (Walk Forever by My Side - The Alarm). The emotions from them was so worth it, and totally made my night! Plus, my niece was able to join in with them (my nephew had fallen asleep).

If I could do it over, I would love to have had a string ensemble at the ceremony.

No regrets about what we did.

Enjoy your wedding. Stay calm. Know that there will be things that will not go perfectly .. make the best of those situations. Most importantly, try to mentally slow the day down as often as you can so you will have memories that are yours for a lifetime!!

Best of Luck!!

1) What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

We got married in a gazebo...so it was us, our officiant, MOH and BM...well the BM's daughter our FG (niece) came in as well...made it very cute...but when the BM took out the rings...she wanted to look at them and he dropped the ring...all I could see was the slots and the ring bouncing and just missing the holes to fall down...and then I thought...I hope my dad has his ring with him to use...but the ring was OK...people thought John planned it...but he did not...even his GM said they were ready to start digging in the sand under the gazebo lol

2) What is one thing you DIDNT do but wish you did?

I really don't think I can answer this...we invited everyone we wanted to (I was adament about that)...I really only regret that a lot of DH's family in Spain was not there...I guess I wish I could had flown them all in...I got to meet them on our HM and I wish they were able to make the wedding...

3) What is one thing you DID but wish you didn't?

this is a hard one too...but I guess I wish I didn't get so stressed over the wedding...but I don't think there is a way to avoid it...

4) Any advice for our wedding day?

remember that everyone will do everything for you...also if something does go wrong...its not the end of the world...make a joke out of it...and move on...

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

My most memorable moment was walking down the isle at the church like the others have said.

What I did but wish I didnt was hire the band that I did. They gave me such stress and dissapointment. The name of them is Creations, just to let you know.

What I didnt do and wish I did was start getting ready earlier. As soon as everything was done and my dress was on it was time to take pictures. I didnt have time to just relax for a couple of minutes.

My advice for your wedding day is, not everything is going to be perfectly the way you planned. Try hard to accept that. You are depending on alot of people and that sometimes is a hard thing.

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

I agree with the others that seeing my husband waiting for me was the greatest feeling, and when he winked at me as I walked down the aisle, I knew he thought I looked beautiful.

I am glad I spent the extra $200 to have the flute and violin playing at the ceremony with the organist. The music was beautiful, and I thoroughly took it in as we sat on the altar.

The only thing I may not do now is the way I gave away the centerpieces and the picture frame from the table numbers (we did these special and they looked beautiful): I used the wedding fortune cookies you see on the wedding websites...I opened up the packages on 2 cookies for each table and added an extra fortune in these cookies, one said We hope you enjoy the centerpiece and the other the frame. I resealed the cookies, and they were handed out by the waiters. Well, the best planned happening didn't come off as planned for some reason, although I was meticulous when doing this as some people couldn't find the extra fortune. I think they just didn't realize that some cookies had 2 fortunes, the original fortune plus the extra fortune. Oh well. One glitch in our perfect day

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

Special moment: waiting to walk down the aisle..anticpation...and then seeing Robert all smiles.
2ns special moment: our priest reading'Why Robert?' and 'why Phyllis?' essays we wrote in pre cana- it brought our feelings o light to all our guests.

Things I loved: The interfaith ceremony- how each officiant explaned the traditions that we were incorporating. The DJ- one of Robs best friends- who worked really hard

Things I wished didn't happen: out of over 50 members of my family- only 5 showed. Goes to show you that FRIENDS are sometime the BEST family you can have. ( both my parents are deceased)

ADVICE: look around the church/temple/hall b4 the ceremony and see all your guests...same thing once you enter the hall as MR and MRs. Savor the people that did come.
Make sure to DANCE!
Arrange to have a picnic basket put togheter by the waitstaff- filled w. the goodies u did not get a chance to eat! We devourred this once we were home!
Best of Luck!

Re: QUESTIONS 4 those already married...

1) What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
too many!
my dad walking down the aisle with me (he was all flustered when he was supposed to 'hand me over', saying our vows, leaving the alter with my HUSBAND, our first kiss as husband & wife, the toast my sisters gave

2) What is one thing you DIDNT do but wish you did?
I wish we'd prepared the tip envelopes in advance. We ended up doing it right before the cocktail hour and it was unnecessary stress.
Al wished he remembered to dance with my mom!
I wish we'd been more specific about photo requests.

3) What is one thing you DID but wish you didn't?
-trust the post office were then said they'd hand cancel the invites (they didn't)
-invite Al's old co-workers who never showed and never bothered to explain why. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't invite them.

4) Any advice for our wedding day?
take the time to enjoy it. We fully enjoyed our wedding and danced all night. Don't stress the small stuff the day of - things are going to happen.

Don't cut costs that you'll regret (different from don't cut costs) - there were a bunch of things we did that were totally worth the added expense: splurging for the hall we loved, dress I loved, video, band vs DJ, gardenias on the cocktail tables - I wouldn't change a thing! They all helped make our day perfect!

1) What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?

The look on my fathers face when he saw me in my dress, The glow in Dh eyes when we kissed for the first time as husband and wife and the dance I had with my brother.

2) What is one thing you DIDNT do but wish you did?
Reseach my photgrapher. I went with the 1st one i met with. She came highly recommended. Still have not done my album, dont care if I ever do.
Splurge on the dress I really wanted.
Slow down while I was walking down the isle. I was so nervous I never watched dh face as I walked towards him.

3) What is one thing you DID but wish you didn't?
Panic, Panic and Panic. I barely remember my ceremony.

4) Any advice for our wedding day?
Breathe. In, Out. Now again. Smile, laugh and dance like there's nobody watching.
