Questions for the brides that had AM weddings

(repost for more input)
I have a ? for you.
I am having both makeup & hair stylists come to my house for me on the day of the wedding.
As you know, this will be a really really early day for everyone involved - especially the bridal party.

I feel that if any of my BM's want to have their hair/makeup done at my house by these people , they can. If they want to go elsewhere - that's fine too.

My mother thinks that having these girls (not sure about numbers -- could be 2 ? could be 5? ) is insane. She thinks that most of them should 'show up ready'. But this is *early*. There is a slight chance that salon will not be open this early.

we have a basement that can be designated as the 'get ready' area... any experiences from your end?

Re: Questions for the brides that had AM weddings

I got married at noon, so we had to be at the hall at 10 am the latest to start taking pictures. so, what we did was this:
thei girls and I stayed at the hotel (near the hall) the night before the wedding, and had the hair and makeup people come at 5 or 5:30.
I had 4 bridesmaids, but only 3 of them were getting hair and makeup, but my mother also stayed at the hotel and came to have her stuff done.
they worked non-stop for 4 hours, got us all ready and then we left the hotel.
it makes sense to have a place for the girls to go to, beucase if you're the first in your group of friends to get married (like i was) they might not realize what needs to be done....or they might be loking for your direction as to what you want from them.
hope that helps

I completely agree with Lori. I chose to do things very similarly to the way she did it. Salons will not likely be open, and they tend to charge extra to open early.

I got married at 3:00 in the afternoon and my makeup and hair people showed up at 8:00 am. We all got ready at my mom's. It wasn't a problem. As a bm, you know what you are getting into!

Our ceremony was @ 10:00 am so I know how you feel. My hair and makeup ladies were @ my house and me, my mom and my sil and best friend got their hair done @ the house and the other girls came ready and just had to put their dresses on (they had brought them to my house prior in the week)One lady that my friends and I use a lot, was kind enough to open the salon early for them--like 6:00 am early lol i think you should let them get ready @ your house if you can--only because they are doing this for you, ya know? if you have the room, that's great---we didn't have a lot of room, but it worked out!

My wedding was at 11am. The hair and make-up people were there at 5am to do me, MOB and my BMs.

It worked out great. We all needed to be ready at 9am for pics. They would have had real trouble finding a salon that early.
