Quiting Your Job

Quiting Your Job

Do you ever feel like quitting your job? God I do, but I can't afford it (bills). I am just so stressed with work, my mortgage payments, school, and many other things! I procure IT related stuff, then I am the main bosses assistant, then every one and their momma comes to me to figure out any little thing (it drives me crazy!) I think I need a VACATION, BUT DH can't take one till August. I need two weeks worth Sorry for the vent, it just bothers me that here I am going on 25 getting paid a certain salary cause of age and this is the CITY, and someone else is working who barely has work and gets 20k more than me and even days off so unfair!

Ugh, yesssss!! I've been there. I think everybody should be required a month PAID vacation. There would be much happier employees that way. If I ruled the world - that would be the first thing to enforce

oooohh - it's such a tempting thing.
I dislike my job, it bores me to tears; can't stand my boss.
But, I have a mortgage, I have bills, the job has excellent benefits and I've got seniority here.
The hours are a plus, 9-5, and I rarely take work home with me.
Only 20 years until I can retire with partial social security, 25 if I go for the full retirement.

I want to be a kept woman.

problem is I will be taking off almost 2 weeks to study for finals (so there goes my vaca hours) and those days will really not work to keep me stress free. Then I would have to make up time so I can then take off for a vacation

I love my job but DH hates his job. He is at the point where a vacation wouldn't even help him much. Its very stressful and I feel bad. Nothing worse than getting up in the morning and dreading your day.

yes I do feel this same way too, and really this is a job for the moment till I finish school. My boss is great but I get overwhelmed with work sometimes and not to mention with what's going on in my life. I wish I had never gotten myself into a home and just worked part-time till I finished school....oh well, I have to stick through it. Hopefully mine, your DH's situations will all get better!

I think about quitting my job all the time. I shouldn't say that because I was un-employed at the beginning of the year. I only took this job becasue of bills and those are what keeps me here

Lots of hugs to you

I totally hear you! I love what I do but I don't make enough!! the mortgage is killing my funds every month. And the other thing I hate is that I havent spent money on myself since the wedding!

Re: Quiting Your Job

I know how you feel, I'm about to go through the same thing except I'm waiting til August to resign from my job. I'm giving myself a few months to see if I can find any openings elsewhere. It's really hard right now since jobs are scarce. I went through a period where I was going through a career change and I couldn't find work for 6 months. Long story short, I was a PO for the NYPD for two years and left after the salary remain in the low 30's. I went on to work in a temp position as an admin asst. and got a higher salary. Currently, I work for a bank in the Operations Dept. but realized it's not something that I want to do. I'm thinking of going back in the law enforcement again. It took me through a whole loop to figure out what it is that I want to pursue in life. I know it's frustrating but you have to do something that you're happy with, otherwise it's just going to make you miserable going to work.

yes I know...I figure I have another 2 yrs till I finish school and then I can start my career. I mean I don't hate my job it just stresses me at the moment, but its because other factors also come into play. I just need a long vacation. I will certainly try to convince DH to go to FL for 5 days at least and then we can go on a 2 weeks vacation in August.

Re: Quiting Your Job

Consider yourself lucky. I was let go from my very stressful job in January and have been unemployed since. My industry is crumbling and 3 of my best friends have lost their jobs since.

Re: Quiting Your Job

I like my job, especially the new position I accepted and there are times I wish I could just quit. I couldn't imagine feeling like that everyday and not liking my job. I hope it works out.

YES YES YES!!! I FEEL THIS WAY EVERY DAY!! Granted, I am not in a great position..its not what I went to school for ( I am still working on that) but I dislike my boss...its a boring job...and I just wish I was never there..but yes, jobs are hard to come by these days..so its not that easy to just pack up and quit especially since there are so many bills to pay. I feel your pain.
