ahh gotcha lol I thought I was missing out on something !!! Oh nooo.

BTW, what is Pernil?

Its pork shoulder. Very popular for us latinos. we usually make this on special occasions but I like to make it more often. It takes a loooong time.

can you post the recipe for pernil.. i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it.. but i always overcook pork..

I dont really have a recipe. What I usually do is wash it with water and lemon juice thoroughly. Then I make a mixture in a bowl. Its water and then I pour two packets of sazon, about 3 tablespoons of garlic, adobo, cilantro, pepper. I mix it into the water and then i rub it all over the pernil in a large pan. I also poke holes into the pernil and fill the holes with the mixture using a baster. I like to fill the holes with olives but DH doesnt like olives so I have to skip it. Then I bake it (Skin side up)on 350 for a few hours depending on how big it is. I got a very big one this time so Im leaving it in there for up to 6 hours. After about 4 hours I uncover it so the skin can get crunchy.

Oh I also marinate it for at least two days.
