Really Pissed Off!!

***?? My brother, whom I really have not been speaking with lately because everytime I do, makes a snide hurtful comment about something. So he asks what I am doing and I tell him that I am finally writing my wedding review for LIW (coming shortly ) and he says - what else are you writing having to do with the wedding? So it seems quite obvious what he's talking about, so I say - well if you're talking about the Thank You notes - right now I am having issues with my pictures and can't even pick out one for the TY's and until I can, the TY's are on hold. Mind you, I got married August 1 so it's barely two months!! So he has the NERVE to tell me - because he knows oh so much about weddings and etiquette, I'm sure, that I am Remiss in not sending them out already!!!! I tell him from what I hear from other people, the average is between 3-6 months and they will certainly be sent out well before 6 months! I am really pissed at him, but now I am bugging out because I am wondering if anyone has been making comments about the thank you notes!!

With regard to thank you notes, you can never win.

Some people will say that 5 months is too long, others will say that 1 monrh is too short. Really, no matter WHEN you send them, there will be some idiot who gets offended with the timing...

i wouldnt let it bother you get them out when you can. i got mine out just under 3 months and i still receieved comments from people so you cant win either way. most people understand that it takes time to get them out.

I have had people ask my MIL why i haven't sent out my TYs. Hello i haven't even gotten back my proofs yet. I think people just don't use there heads at times. Good luck.

I felt bad about my TY's being 5 mos late but no one said anything to me about it. Maybe that's not good either but ya know what? I don't care! They're out and I actually got a few emails about how lovely the picture was!

This really bothers me that people have the nerve to complain - usually unmarried people, or MEN who don't write them out anyway!

I've rarely, if ever, received a thank you note prior to the 6 month mark...and I JUST got one the other day for a wedding I went to in Sept of 2003!

I sent mine out 3 1/2 months after my wedding and I thought I was a superstar! Yet I'm getting comments like, 'Oh, so you did a picture, THAT's why you had to wait so long to send them out?' Um, HELLO, how could you NOT be familiar with the fact that thank you notes are usually with a picture from the wedding?

I'm waiting 3 more weeks and if I don't get my proofs back by then, I will start sending out my TYs, without photos. Tongues wag early in my family.

WHat annoys me is that everything has become 'expected' and with judgement! Thank you notes are no more EXPECTED than a Tip is supposed to be. There are healthy levels of expectation but people take it way too far! I think it is poor etiquette to nag someone about thier poor etiquette!

I have a friend who took 10 months to get her TYs out..and all I said when I opened it was:
'OH! Cool, a beautiful picture of our friends' ...not 'WHAT A LAZY B@#%!'

Why are people so mean and judgemental!!!

I just started mine
