Platinum. Seriously. I always had itchy reactions to earrings and the first time I wore platinum it was amazing. It is very hard, almost impossible to find low priced plat earrings in local stores, so most of mine have come from online. Shopnbc used to have some, I've gotten a lot from ebay.

I have VERY sensitive ears. Look for anything that doesn't have Nickel in the metal. Unfortunately, white gold has Nickel in it, but yellow gold does not. Platinum is Hypoallergenic, and so is Sterling Silver.

Sterling may or may not have nickle in it depending on what is used in the alloy...the other .075 of the .925 However some sterling jewelry is 'flashed' in rhodium or platinum, and that may cause less or no reaction.
Platinum has some alloy in it as well, but I do not think it is usually nickle.
White gold almost always has nickle, that is what makes it white.

Yep, white gold bothers me and I'm seriously allergic to nickel. I'm probably going to have to get both my rings reset because I have a RASH on my finger. Its so gross.
