I have one that i really like. Its cheap-hot tools brand. My stylist uses it and its great but its very wide. I tend to burn my ears if I am not careful.
So I want a thinner one but not one that is too hot. My mom had one of the expesnive ones and I always feel it burns my hair and doesn't make it shiney.
Any suggestions?

I use the cheapo hot tools iron as well. I do love it though! Gets my hair reallllllyyyyyy straight! I heard the Chi is really good- but I am not ready to shell out that kinda $$ yet- I'll stick with my hot tools

LOL I knew I liked you for a reason Yea it works great and it was 15 bucks! Evangelista is a fancy dancy salon so if its good enough for them good enough for me. But I wish it were narrower and so do my ears.

i love my regular sedu but they sell a thinner version too - i think the website is sedu.com
OUCH! that price tag HURTS me. But does it do a good job? I am fearful of pricey starighteners cause Ive found some of them to be melt your face off hot.

You hair is not naturally straight Cat?
The price was not as scary when I bought mine. I had a 20% off coupon also the price has gone up about $50.I used to use a cheapy straightner I bought in Traget but in addition to making my hair straight it made it look really greasy I view this one as an important investment into me looking good. Also it heats up after 3 seonds and I only have to do each section once so it saves a lot of time.
It is really hot in the center but the plastic is wider than the ceramic plate so I haven't burned my ear off yet.
My hair has a weird wave in it. When I don't straighten it it looks really 'fluffy' and I get little frizzy curls areound my face and by my ears. It is not a good look .

Ah Ok I have the wave too. Irritates me. I look like a dandelion if i dont starighten it. Hmm so you don't get the smoked hair smell? My mom had one of the Ionic ones? (Im bad with this crap) and it always sizzled on my hair and left it SO pin straight I looked like Wednesday Adams. I dont like that look.

Like you, I too use hot tools. My hair is not very wavy but it has a frizz that needs to be tamed. My sister has a great one that I love to use when I visit her but it is I will have to ask her for the name.
