I have asked this before but I hope someone can help me with this.
What is the difference between having the reception at a reception location vs a hotel?
Is it more cost effective to go this route?
Thank you all

Reception Locations vs. Hotels
In general- The reception site caters to weddings, showers, bar/bat mitzvahs, anniv parties, etc. This is their buisiness.
For hotels, it is an add on. Their primary buisiness is housing...maybe with a bar and restaurant included.
Fodd also tends to be better at the reception halls.

Reception Locations vs. Hotels
Some hotels do more weddings than other locations. But I agree with phyl.
An advantage to using a hotel is that out of town guests wont have to worry about transportation and that's a huge convenience. Plus it cuts down on guests drinking and then driving home. And then you could use the hotel to stay in on your wedding night as well. Definitely check out some references who have used the hotel and get word of mouth recommendations if you go that route.
