Regarding the post, does you DH wear his wedding band?

I was one of the girls whose husband doesn't wear his wedding band. Well as I said before that only if we have a special occasion my husband will put the band on but I have to get it out of the box and pretty much put it on his finger. well we had to go to a wedding on Saturday so he put it on. He didn't complain once about it bothering him like he always does or plays with it. So he had it on all day Saturday, fell asleep with it on, wore it all day Sunday and just as I thought maybe he likes wearing the ring and will never take it off, I 'm going into the bedroom to get ready to go sleep and there's the ring on the nightstand. Oh well, I tried.

That is when you say honey, good for you, I see you wore your ring and it made me so happy. I think you look kindda sexy in it too The little things girl, the little things.

my husband job involves manual labor and he does not want to get his finger cut off or caught. It did take him a good month to remember to wear it. I too tell him how sexy it looks on his finger but then I photocopied the receipt for the rings. This just reminded him that we spent a lot of money on our rings....Wear it!

My husband can't wear any rings at work because it could also get caught on something and cause injury. He does wear his everywhere except at work and sometimes he carries it in his pocket so he can wear it on the way to work or on the way home.

My husband also does manual labor and he said that its really not safe to wear his ring. he did offer to wear the ring on his chain with his cross.

I guess I don't understand why he won't wear his wedding ring. It has driven me so crazy that I even pulled out pics of him when he was married to his ex-wife and in every pic he has on his wedding ring. I think it hurts my feelings more than anything. I really don't know how to approach him about this issue.

I've never seen my hubby remove his ring lol He says that he has to take it off at work when he works with the electronics but he does everything with it on at home. I took it off to clean it and he keept saying how naked his finger felt.

My hubby only takes it off when he's working at Skydive Long Island on the weekends! You're not supposed to skydive with rings on for risk of it getting caught on the door of the plane during exit-it's been known that you can lose your finger! OUCH!

He wears it every day and I'm surprised.

He actually shouldn't be wearing it since he's an electrician...but he won't listen. I guess I should be grateful...(until he gets shocked because gold is an excellent conductor )

Hmm...I don't think there's anyway to convince him. Does he wear it for special occasions or when you go out?

My parents have been married for 27 years and my father hasn't worn his ring since the honeymoon. He originally didn't wear it because he was an electrician now he just says that he hates wearing jewelry.

perhaps he doesn't want to wear the band specifically b/c it reminds him of his ex wife. IF he wore a band when married to the ex wife, perhaps wearing one, even if it is a different ring/different wife, reminds him of that bad marraige.

Maybe a new band that is TOTALLY DIFFERENT then the one that he wore with her? Maybe he can wear it on his other hand?

As for the girls who have husbands who don't wear their rings b/c of their jobs.....that is totally understandable! I would never want my DH to wear it if it were going to compromise his safety.

He never wears it anywhere. I guess I just need to give up on it and let it be.

This is totally personal, and may not be your style, but if it were me, I would put it to rest and accept that he is not going to wear the band. Fine. THen, I would sit down with him one more time, and explain to him that since he is not going to wear it, you would like to wear and 'extra' ring, for him. One that is filled with diamonds/sapphires/stone of your choice.
This will either get him to wear the band, OR you will have another LOVELY peice of jewelry

my DH is the opposite- he's an electrician and doesn't wear it. Although I surprisingly came home from work tonight and he had it on!! he put it on when he came home.....I think he's just trying to get used to it.....I love seeing it on his finger though!!

mine does. He takes it off when he goes to the gym to lift, but he puts it back on when he gets home. He likes his ring a lot, I think he was surprised how much he did. He didn't want to wear one at first, but I told him that I wasn't going to wear one if he didn't (not true, and he knew it, but hey, it worked!) I think he had only thought about plain gold bands, and that didn't thrill him--he didn't wear a ring for his first marriage--and he was surprised how much he likes his platinum and titanium ring. I love when we're cuddling and our left hands are together and our rings touch. It's a nice reminder that we're really married!

He wears it everyday. He has one for work and one for going out. It's funny, when we leave the house and if he looks down and forgot to put it on, he turns around and drives back to get it.
