Renewing Vows...

Ladies, I have a question. We are going to vegas for our 1 year anniversary. DH said that he thought it would be fun to renue our vows. However, we will not be there on our actual anniversary. So I dont know how I feel about it. What do you ladies think?

I am pretty sure we are renewing our vows in Aruba in May, and we won't be there on the actual date either. I think it's fine!

We're going to Vegas right before our 1 year anniversary and I was thinking about renewing our vows also. We're also going to California, maybe we could do it there.

I don't think you need to renew after a year. I think of it as a special reminder that you would marry this person all over again - I think we will wait until our 20th or 25th or so. You still are in a newlywed stage after a year, I think a renewal seems pre-mature.

If you definitely are going to, I don't think the actual date matters.

I really wasnt planning on it at all. DH just thought it was a good idea. Not sure what we will do just yet. My dream is to renew at Flowerfield! I would love to have another celebation there. Maybe in 20 years I can afford to do it again! LOL

There was a long discussion about renewing a few months ago. Everyone had a different opinion but my feelings are that if a couple wants to renew their vows every single day, thats a wonderful thing.

Our renewal on our one year was another way to tell each other how much we mean to one another. And we plan on renewing them on a regular basis b/c its a special way to commerate the promises we made on our wedding day. I could say them a thousand times and it wont be any less meaninful for me.... I mean them with all of my heart everytime I say them.

Every couple is different. If its not meaningful to some, then they shouldnt bother going thru the effort.

I think it is fine....and I agree with SonicStef.

Personally we are doing this on our dating annversary, which is 6 months after our wedding anniversary.

We are renewing our vows around the year mark, and I cannot wait!! It's really a personal preference and depends on each individual's feelings on the matter.

I think thats great and sounds like fun in Vegas! Id love to renew them there!!!! We will probably do it at the five year mark, but I think anytime is AWESOME!!! have FUN!!!
