No but it would scare me away maybe someone is taking legal actions against them for some reason?

If they are doing remodeling that could be part of it

Were they open? If not then their license could have expired...those are the only thing I can think of.

T said that they may not be paying their taxes or legally licensed to run a business-basically he said whatever it is they did something illegally. OR they are going to be evicted from the property-you better FM this business but I have to know

It could be several reasons:

1) many complaints
2) illegal business
3) not up to standards like code violations.
4) or just simply they got up and ran and closed shop

Your friend can call the state and ask about the business but I wouldn't go for some place that is or was shut. I hope your friend finds place of her dreams I am so sorry this happened.

Sorry Tara have no idea about this, but anything like this can't be good... and we know how flowers can be screwed up really bad, so I'd look elsewhere

The most common Stop Work Orders are issued by the Dept. of Buildings when a building is under renovation and has no permit, unsafe conditions or code violations. It could be some minor stuff that you did not notice outside or could have been issued at the outset of work when nothing look disturbed.

If she has her heart set on this place, she should go back and see which Agency issued the Order. It should say on the Order itself and it might even have a number to ocntact for more information. That should clear up any confusion about what it is prohibiting.
