Repost from 08: changing your name w/social security

so i couldn't find a straight answer on the website wheather you can go in person or mail in the form to change your name so i called them. they told me they need your original marriage certificate.. i am little weary of giving them my original. anybody else hear of this or anybody know of any other options???

you have to go in... you cannot mail in your application.

it was super easy... you just go in and show it to them
