Repost from BHB- ? about presents

I posted this on BHB but thought it was more appropriate here----

I got married 11/03 and one of my BMs got married 9/04. After we got married, this BM kept saying I had nothing left on my registry for her to get me so eventually I added more to it (after the wedding). I got her all these things from her registry for her wedding bc she wanted presents over $$ and even after her wedding she would say that she still needed to get me a wedding present. Well, lately, when we talk about weddings or whatever, she doesn't mention any of it. I've even subtley brought it up just to see if she forgot or somethinig but she never says anything. I'm not trying to be petty about her not giving me a present but it kind of annoys me that I spent all this $ on her presents and she's all about wedding etiquette and is considering being a wedding planner and doesn't even realize!

DH thinks she needs a less subtle hint but I am wondering if I should just let it go. I think if she realized that she didn't get us something, she'd be embarrassed that she forgot but I don't want to be the one to remind her.

I replied on your BHB thread. Basically, what I suggested was that you let her know that you had added items to your registry, as per her request, but now you're going to take them down because it's been so long.

Honestly, I had to ask myself, if I was a BM in a friends wedding, that would mean that I am pretty close friends with my friend. So, and this is just me, I would NEVER just 'forget' - she must KNOW that she didn't get you anything. At this point with a year gone by, she's probably 'hoping' you will forget.

Does that make any sense?

If this is really bothering you, which it would me, I would not be so subtle about it.
