Repost from BHB - DH lost his ring last night!!

I am soooo upset!!! He is a paramedic and had said to me that he prob wouldn't want to wear it on his hand at work between gloves and seeing patients and constantly washing his hands. So I bought him a beautiful chain as a wedding present so he could wear it around his neck at work.

So last night, for whatever reason, he wore his ring on his finger and left it on a sink when he was washing his hands. I know he's done that once before but realized it a minute later and ran back. So he was at LIJ - which isn't even his hospital and left it there. He didn't realize it until this morning when he came home. He said he didn't really notice that it wasn't on his hand because he's used to wearing it on his chain. So he ran back out of the house to go to LIJ and called them like two blks later and actually got the nurse in ER who he worked with last night and she checked with everyone but of course it's nowhere. I am so upset. I feel like a new ring is not going to feel the same because it is not from our wedding. Who's loses their ring after 4 months? Happy Chanukah to me

aww Michal. I am so sorry for both you and your DH

I know you don't think it will be the same if Dh gets a new band, but it'll be fine. I know, easy for me to say, right?

Well just to try and cheer you, I will give you some words of wisdom, courtesy of my DH no less!

The background story is that for the first time since we're married, I forgot to wear my e-ring and wedding band today. I felt horrible and was SO upset the entire morning. I mean REALLY upset , I felt as if a part of me was missing and I hate not having it on. When I emailed Anthony to tell him about how sad I was, here is what he said:

'I know honey, I saw them this morning. Don't worry about it! Sure its important, but its just a symbol.. the important part is that I know you love me. And thankfully we are still married , no matter if you are wearing a ring or not!

While I know its not nearly the same as your DH losing his ring, maybe you will find some comfort in those words (I know I did!)

We're going to buy a new ring today. I spoke to insurance this morning to see if it's covered under homeowner's but it's not because of the deductible. It sucks though because $$ is extra tight because of the holidays and we certainly didn't expect to have to buy a new ring now along with car repairs, presents, etc.
