Repost from bride's board, putting dress on over head

I wondered if you all had advice since you have already done this. I don't think my dress can be stepped into. I have a Maggie with a lot of crinoline and a corset top. How do I get it over my head without makeup getting on the dress and it ruining my hair? I am now worrying about this!!! Any suggestions would be appreciated

Mine, I was able tp step into, my sister had to put it over her head. the only thing I can suggets is doing it very carefully and slowly.

You should still be able to step into the dress. Just lift your leg high enough and make sure there area couple of people to help hold you up. The corset top should be loosened as much as you can and then just tie it up after it's on.
I had an off the shoulder gown, and I had to put that on first, and then my crinoline, so I had my MOH holding the crinoline, and two people holding me up to make sure I didn't fall over while strpping in since I couldn't see my feet.

They do sell these things called 'face sheets'. I have no idea where you get them, but my seamstress recommended it to me. Basically, the bride puts it over her face while the rest of the crew helping you get dressed that day slips it over your head.

The only other thing I can suggest is to be VERY careful, and maybe your makeup artist will still be there and she can apply your lipstick after you have your dress on?

oh boy, I can just imagine. I am such a klutz I will be for sure on the floor. I would actually laugh though because it would just be typical lol. I will make sure I check it out and try it at my final fitting first.
