I am working on my resume, revising it. It was developed a long time ago by someone else, someone I paid .... and the qualifications and achievements listed no longer have any relevance to the type of job I am currently seeking. I don't have any qualifications that do, really, except for the fact that I was the copy editor for two college newspapers (I want to work as a copy editor). I want to remove the old qualifications ... but will it look bad that I don't have any listed??? I don't think the copy editor newspaper jobs are enough since I have nothing else to add really .... will it look weird to have qualifications regarding college when I am out of college for 10 years almost? and if those are the only ones I can put, that would look weird too right?
TIA!

Re: Resume Questions
Jenn - don't delete your qualifications. Even if it is something not listed on the job description, they still might see something that they would like to have in their candidate - it could be the most random things!
Also, I think if you did things in college that relate to the position, you should def highlight it in your resume :)

What I did was re-word them to make them more qualities I have, and the achievements were listed as examples of how I have that quality -- such as 'Proficient in organizing and leading people: organized and managed over 500 volunteers for Fall Harvest Festival ... ' I think it looked good. I sent it today! It was for a copy editor position at a fitness magazine in setauket. at least it's a reverse commute .... but a far one ...
