Returning Lenox

I don't want to seem ungrateful, but we received quite a few Lenox bowls as gifts. We don't need all of them but I think the one we want to return is from an old/discontinued line (it was in a different colored box from all the others and it was a little faded). I can't find it online or in Macy's, Fortunoff etc. Do you think if I call Lenox directly they may let me exchange it for something else? Has anyone else received old merchandise as gifts?

Re: Returning Lenox

I dont think you are going to have much luck.

I got a $130 Lenox frame (which was current) and I wanted to return to Macys for credit. They would only give me $50 in credit for it even though it was selling for $130 on their own shelves at the time.

Lenox is sold in discount stores all over so thats probably where your gifter got it from.

Re: Returning Lenox

Just some information that might help.
If you check the bottom of the item and it has a small 'L' (I believe, in a circle) it's from one of the outlet stores. I worked at Fortunoff for a while and that was one of our clues.
Hope is helps a little.
Good luck.

Re: Returning Lenox

Thanks for the tip about the outlets. I have a feeling it was a gift from this couple's own wedding a few years ago.

Macy's is such a pain when comes to returning anything without a gift receipt. When I return some items from my registry because I got doubles of some things, it took the bridal person 45 minutes to figure out how to issue a credit!

Re: Returning Lenox

I am having a similar situation with a gift from Tiffanys but I am going to try the outlets, i think that is probably our best bet. Good Luck and hey if you cant return it I'll take them off your hands LOL
