Romantic getaway question

Does anyone know any places, maybe a B&B to stay at in Western Massachusetts? My husband and I are looking to go during foliage and don't really know the area that well. Any suggestions or ideas are helpful. Thanks all.

Not MA, but CT. By Mystic: Copperbeech inn. They have a website www.copperbeechinn.com (I think)

We went during Thanksgiving weekend and the crowd was a little older. They have one of the best restaurants in CT, so if you go, plan on dining there one night.

Michelle just curious what test???

My husband has a test on Oct. 13th too is your husband a Fireman????

You guessed it - the next weekend!!

How is your hubby doing with the studying? Derek is a bit stressed out because he is also trying to get his mother`s house sold and neither thing can wait. Terrible about the FF that died yesterday - 1 month on the job! It`s really scary...

How is married life at the 6 month mark? We are doing great, all settled into married life. We are looking for a home in North Westchester/Southern Putnam. I just found out that even if we live out of NY City, not only does he have to still pay city taxes but so do I as his wife. That seems unfair.

Junebride - Yes he is

He sure is..I will be so glad when the LT exam is over..hubby is a bit stressed

He is a bit stressed, and I will be very happy when things can back to a sense of normalcy. It was so sad about the FF that died, espcecially more so since his wife is pregnant with their second child.

If you need on Westchester ask away. I live in Southern Westchester but have knowledge of the surrounding areas, feel free to ask

I too can't wait for the exam to be over!! I just said to him last night that I can't wait to get him back - his nose is always in a book! All I know is I hope he does well or Oct. 14th is going to be a very bad day and the days following.

It most certainly will. He has been studying so diligently over the past few years that my heart will break if he doesn't get on the list. LOL one of the FF fom his old firehouse is getting married October 6th and they had to delay their honeymoon.

Best of luck to both your husbands :-)

I hear what you are saying about the studying. Can you imagine all the information they need to know? Derek has a study group and studies on his own too. I try to help by reading him questions and just being supportive and putting other things on the back burner when possible so he can study. I get mad though when he is trying to get some stuff done at his mother`s house, hoping to get her a better price and his brother is golfing instead of helping. But I guess I can`t control him though....

Junebride, where does your hubby work? (and Michelle, where does Steven work again??) Maybe they know each other. Derek is in the South Bronx, Engine 73.

Jim has left the firehouse - he did work in engine 46 in the Bronx at one time. He took the test to be a Fire Marshall - didn't know anything about the job but figured he'd give it a try. Now has stayed with it and has been busy studying.

I hear exaclty what you are saying, his father decided that he is moving and feels that Steven should be at his disposal, meanwhile his brother who lives minutes away is never bothered. They have no consideration for him. We have put everything on hold to devote all our energies to him doing well on the exam. I spend many an evening quizzing him and he goes to both firetech and fire command study classes.

Steven works in Ladder 102 in Brooklyn (Bed-Sty to be exact)
