I DVRed Beauty and the Geek yesterday and am watching it right now.
I can't believe some of these girls. Their intellect is inceredibly limited! No book smarts, no street smarts - NOTHING! How do these girls survive in this society?
They say the dumbest things and can't figure out simple tasks.
Ugh, so disappointed that ppl like this exist.

I actually love the show. its the only reality TV I watch. But this season eh...it seems MUCH more exageratted than in previous years. last season's with Dave and Jasmine was one of the ebst because they REALLY truly changed and were rewarded for that.
But this season..the geeks dont seem truly geeky like ins eason's past, just socially awkward and they and the girls seem to be hamming it up a lil' too much for the camera. I DVR them so DH and I ahve to play catch-up this weekend.

agreed, I actually know one person who is totally completely and UTTERLY stupid beyond her years-you would think she never walked out of her house or went to school in her life.....every guy she has ever met in her life takes care of her...i guess that works for her

I honestly don't think it represents our society well... It *seems* like there would be a high percentage of bimbos because of the way we exploit it with reality tv... But I like to believe for every dumb blonde, there are 3 educated successful (brunette) women.
Just kidding-- I'm a blonde.
We don't see too many reality shows focusing on THEM... because having yourself together is boring!

Of course, I get that. It just makes me sad...that's all. I would hope that women, and ppl in general, have the drive to be independent, successful and productive in society. Looks can only get you so far and pretty soon they're going to realize that.

Not necessarily. Sadly, some women DO get by on just that, and they are perfectly content with it.. To each his own... Hey, if their happy with being an object and one step up from blow up doll, so be it.
