Sedona Fitness in Forest Hills

Has anyone used this gym before?

I'm SERIOUSLY unhappy with the gym I am with now and I would like a gym in Queens I can drive to (not too far away) that has parking. I am going to check out Sedona tonight. Has anyone been there?

KRIS, I'm thrilled that you said that, because I was going to also FM you because I remembered that you posted awhile ago about loving your gym so much and continuing to travel there after moving. I knew you were living in my neck of the woods so figured I would check with you.

They don't post the prices on their website, which is irritating ... I am going tonight to see what they offer but I'm sure Kris has an answer to this question!

Okay...I'm back

It's on the smaller side however - I've never had a problem getting the machines I've needed (aside from the usual New Year's Resolutioners but that happens at every gym in the beginning of the year).

There's a good amount of cardio and strength machines. There's an area where you can use free weights.

They offer a lot of classes, and a wide variety at that. I am ALWAYS at the Thursday night Pilates class. It's like therapy for me They have classes during all sorts of hours and you can look at/pick up a schedule at the desk.

I inquired awhile ago about getting a guest pass for my mom while she was in town. I think it was $10 for a week or ten days (for use of the gym alone, not classes). You could always do that and see how you like it.

There's a small lot in the front and in the back. You can also find street parking pretty easily.

I pay about $40 a month - this includes a $10 unlimited class fee that I opted in to, and when I signed up, I had them roll over a good portion of my registration fee (dividing it into each month, rather than drop a large chunk of $ on my registration fee in one shot).

They also have a sauna and a tanning booth. I think it's a stand-up tanning booth - I've never been in there, so don't quote me on that. Those are also extra money. I personally don't use them - I can't tan, I only burn, and I can't sit in a sauna...I just can't sit still for a long amount of time.

Kris, this sounds great! I miss Pilates ... I used to do it at my first gym ... my gym now offers it on Fridays at 7:30
