Self Cleaning Ovens

How does this actually work? I can just turn it on and it really cleans itself? Also I heard that it might create a bad order while its self cleaning is that true?

Any help would be appreciated BC my oven needs some cleaning this weekend!!

TIA

yeah it basically gets REALLLLLY hot and burns off all the crap on the bottom.... so i would suggest turning your heat down or you are going to DIE of heat overload lol

II have one and to be honest i hated it. It's a horrible smell and your little puggie will hate it...Petunia hated it and her breathing was horrible after so i will never use it again.

Yes, I thought about her too! DH and I were thinking we would send her for the day to my parents or his so she wouldn't have to endure the smell. Can we leave the house while this is being done?

Ahh, I guess I might have to just clean it myself, but I have never done this before.

honestly? like once a year

i usually do it right before we turn the heat on so i dont kill myself with heat overload

i dont cook a WHOLE lot so if you do, maybe cleaning it every 6 months would be better?

Sounds good to me, I have been using the oven a lot more to cook instead of frying, but its also been used more frequently because I hosted both holidays so I can SEE it needs to be cleaned.
Thanks again!!
