Sense of Community - Virtual Get-Together via Live Chat?
Here's a suggestion for building the commuity - how about a virtual get-together via the Live Chat function. We could select a time, just like for the 'real' GTG's and even the out-of-towners could join in.
I see there is a Brides option, and a Private 1 and Private 2 - not sure how they work. Maybe Ron would give us a NWR option if the Brides side is active a lot.

I don't think anyone ever uses the live chat, not really sure why not...
but it could be useful!

Back in the early days of the internet when Compuserve was still around I used to participate in some regular chats with a knitting group and it was a lot of fun - the chat is similar to the postings here, but a little more immediate and a continuous flow instead of lots of different threads. It does get confusuing if there are alot of people on line though. Live chat used to be more active here but now it's hit or miss if you find someone there.

I like the idea! I have used the chat before. It is a little slow but I def. think it will help build our community!

Thats a nice idea.
I think the chat can get sort of chaotic so it might be tough to have a conversation but Im game.

If people have aol or aol IM we can use a private chat room there which I find easier to use. For those that don't have aol IM I would be happy to help you get it, it is free and just a small download, very easy and once you are on it you will love how it can keep you connected.

my experience from way back on this site is that the live chat is less than perfect! it crashes really easily, and is quite slow. an aol chat room would work a lot better.
keep me updated! as another nj girl, the li gtg's are tough!
