OMG - my cramps have never been so bad! This is my first month off of BC and it is now obvious to me that the pills were helping ease up this time of month for me. I definitely need to get back on it ASAP.
Anybody have any advice as to what helps ease this intense horrid pain?? I'm going out tonight for DH's birthday and I really don't wanna be doubled over all night. It's just cramps really and I'm SHAKING like crazy. I have a heating pad right now and trying to drink lotsa water. Also took some midol an hour ago. Anything else you think I should do?
Ugh - it hurts soooo bad!

Re: severe pain!!!
before i went on BC, midol extra strength ALWAYS worked for me...they say its just ibprofen, but that drug always worked wonders for me lol...i used to get cramps from my stomach all the way down my legs so bad that i'd stay home from school...and midol e.s. was always my lifesaver! they have a few different kinds - just read the symptoms on each & see which pertains the most to u..if u dont get the e.s., double up ur dose
and ugh - many hugs to feel better!!
(and happy birthday to the dh!)

Re: severe pain!!!
thanks, Taryn I'll try that Extra Strength Midol. Yeah, I always used to be in a LOT of pain before BC, that's why when I started the pill it was just so wonderful to have shorter, lighter periods with barely any cramps. I miss that. Can't wait to get back on. Thanks for the advice!!

Re: severe pain!!!
Midol was the only thing that ever worked for me! I always had horrible cramps..I couldn't function with them half the time. Also try a hot compress and put it against your stomach..thats helps a lot also..feel better

Re: severe pain!!!
Anything extra strength and a heating pad. Hope it goes away soon and the bad cramps are only for the first day.

Re: severe pain!!!
do you have a cat? if so, place him/her on your belly where the cramps are... that ALWAYS helps my cramps!!
if you dont have a cat, a heating pad will work just the same!!
and some midol

Re: severe pain!!!
I had the same thing happen to me. The cramps were insane and the bleeding was much heavier (tmi I am sure). I took midol and I became friends with the heating pad. Also hot showers seemed to help. I took me about 3 months to get use to it.
