Re: SHARE YOUR MEATLOAF RECIPE

I actually use the one thats on the box of the liptons onion soup and it comes out great! we use the packaged meatloaf meat mix from the supermarket, along with everything it says to add on the box, and also throw in some hormel bacon bits (its like real bacon, not the hard ones you put on salads lol)

I would but it's my mom's. I'm very protective of family secrets.

Besides I can't even get mine to come out like hers even when I follow everything exact.

Re: SHARE YOUR MEATLOAF RECIPE

Since it was in the NW cookbook - I hope Gail doesnt mind me sharing her recipe...It's sooo good!!!

I only make 1 change and put bacon on top of the loaf after ive poured the sauce on top...But thats optional of course!

preheat oven 350

Ingredients:

1lb chop meat
small can tomato sauce
onion powder
salt
pepper
1 egg
bread crumbs (i use the italian seasoned ones)
american cheese

Mix meat, half the can of tomato sauce, onion powder, salt, pepper, a couple of handfulls of bread crumbs ( I usually wet them a little because the meat gets hard if I dont) and egg

Form a loaf

make holes in the loaf and put american cheese in them. Close them up.
Pour the rest of the can of tomoto sauce over the loaf.

bake for about a half hour.....I usually cut into it to see if its done.

Re: SHARE YOUR MEATLOAF RECIPE

I usually take a pkg of chopmeat - 93%lean between 1 1/2lbs & 2 lbs

mix by hand:
chopmeat
pkg of onion soup mix
few shakes of dried parsley
about 1/2-3/4 cup of bread crumbs
1 egg

mix all indredients well & shape into oval & place into loaf pan. cook @ 375 degrees for about 45-50 min - depending on size of pkg used of meat. You can also sprinkle some dried minced onion on top for extra flavor.

wait about 5-10 min for it to cool before cutting/slicing so it doesnt crumble/fall apart.

Re: SHARE YOUR MEATLOAF RECIPE

I make a mean Turkey-Spinach Meatloaf!

Here is the recipe:

1 lb. Ground White Turkey Meat
1 package frozen chopped spinach-thawed and 95% drained
1 cup seasoned Italian Bread Crumbs
1 cup parm cheese
S&P
1 egg
1 med. onion-grated
4 cloves of garlic-minced

-I grated the onion in the bowl I was planning to use to mix all ingredients together this way any juice from the onion was being used.

-Mix all ingredients together and bake at 400 for about 25-30 minutes or until until brown
