WOW!! just back after an amazing wedding and even better Honeymoon. We were looking at our proofs and saw the pictures of our best man and maid of honor signing our marriage license. Then i got to wondering, where the license might be now, because I don't have it. In the craziness of the day I didn't even think about asking the priest about it. Does the priest send in the marriage license or was I supposed to do that?
This is true. It comes very quickly. Don't worry yourself. Then you have all the fun of changing your name on your credit cards, license, SScard etc

the officiant sends it in.. they have to send it within 5 days of the ceremony...
you should have it soon, no worries!

Our church sent ours in and it was waiting for us when we got home from our HM. Not sure when it got there but we were gone for 2 weeks.
Our priest sent ours in, but ours took 2 weeks to get to us. The officient is responsible for sending it in right away, but we asked him to hold onto it for a few extra days because we had a neighbor picking up our mail and since he did not have a key, he was holding onto it... He's a bit spastic so we didn't want him holding onto anything we might need.
I had this same concern...but I called the church before we left for the honeymoon and they sent it in!! I think they have too!
we got our marraige certificate from the church and the state....when we got back form our HM this weekend
