Should I purchase this flatware setting?

I found a box of flatware at TJ Maxx, by a company named something like 'Handmade Hardware, or Flatware, or something along those lines'.

I am now trying to find their website, and can't seem to do so (but it was on the box, I just forgot what goes after 'handmade')

Can someone help me.

The pattern that I saw was more trendy, it had black iron handles that curled into a spiral at the very end...

This sounds like what you described. Is there any way this can be the pattern? Or is this way off I'm curious..

If it is, I did a search using 'Handmade Cutlery' and this came up

The pictured set is the one I have and the have it at bed bath and beyond also

This is similar but not exact. At the end of the handle, the one I saw is plainer, it just makes a closed spiral, but not around the handle, away from it to the side...

So should I buy this setting then? What do people think? Do you think that the handles may be too narrow to be comfortable?

What sort of plates do you have?

The plates I currently have are old plates from when I finished college and they totally would clash. Since I didn't have a shower, I was going to buy a new set of plates when I a)felt ready to purchase them or b)when we buy a house (ie. a few years). I think something that's plain with minimal design will work well with these

I like them but I know that if it were me, I would get bored of them in a few years. Especially if you dont have your plates yet, you might want to go with something more tame so you have more freedom to pick the plates you really want in a few years. Otherwise you are going to limit yourself.

Also - these take up a lot more space in your drawer. Not sure if kitchen space is an issue for you though.

Stef, were you more picky about the plates or the utensils when you shopped. I may be more picky about utensils than plates, but who knows...

Kitchen space is an issue, but I don't plan to use all 12 settings at once, perhaps only 2...

I understand your pain. Luke and I have completely different tastes when it comes to this stuff. Everything is a battle over who has better taste
